Scrapbooking Your Vacation using a Non-Travel-Themed Collection with Melinda
I’m slowly scrapping my way through a big family adventure that we took last year and today I’m sharing some of my process in getting photos and stories from camera roll to scrapbook pages. If you’d like to see more of my process in getting from camera roll to scrapbook page check out this post on the blog!
I recently shared these 3 layouts when the Trailblazer collection was on sale (you can see these and other pages from Trailblazer on this post):
I am mostly working with the Trailblazer collection for all of these pages with a few accents from my stash included. There are also a few pieces from the Grit & Grace collection - the colours work beautifully!
Here are the extra’s I’ve added in from my stash
I’ve picked up where the next “blank” spot is in my album and have created a couple more 12x12 pages, and also filled a couple of gaps in my pocket pages.
“Dale’s & Fortesucue Falls”
Throughout this album I’ve decided to include full page sized photos of the landscape of whichever gorge we were adventuring through on that day along with pocket pages to tell any smaller stories.
This page was our first gorge on our first full day so my first full page photo. I’ve kept this pretty simple, adding a pink pattern paper border and a 4x3 vertical pattern card to house my title and a cute little sticker!
“Lasso The Stars”
The night sky in the Pilbara is spectacular! I did what I could with my phone to capture some of the beauty and, though the photos don’t demostrate the true beauty, they turned out pretty amazing still and I was excited to scrap them.
I’ve started with one of the “plain” coloured papers for my background, added some of the pretty gold stars from the digital kit and printed my background.
I added a couple of strips of pattern paper, some star embellishments from Trailblazer and a couple of extras from my stash to tie this page into the feel of the album.
I added in my journalling and gold splatter and that is another story added into my album.
I am having so much fun not only creating these pages but going back through the photos and telling the stories. This was such an amazing adventure!
I did also record my process for you and I hope that you enjoy!
Thanks so much for stopping by & have a fantastic scrappy day!
Melinda
