Boys like Flowers too!

Florals are not just for documenting pretty gardens or feminine pages.  They can be a wonderful addition to masculine layouts too!  I chose the Wildflower collection because of its blue and yellow tones--colors that would not only match the photograph I chose but also because they have a more masculine feel to them.

I chose the denim paper from the collection as my base…it matched my sons jeans perfectly!  I added a yellow floral pattern paper border for additional interest.  I then layered wood pattern paper, light blue paper, and a phrase pattern paper under my photograph.

I added the yellow and blue floral clusters to the upper left and bottom right of the photograph—this complements the colors of the photograph while also drawing the eye across the page.  I also added three small floral elements to the denim paper around the floral clusters—they reminded me of dandelion seeds blowing in the wind and added a touch of whimsy to the clusters.

I finished the layout by creating the title Bloom & Grow.  I picked the “Bloom” and “Grow” words because of their wood grain appearance—perfect for a masculine themed layout.  I added the sneaker with florals sticker by the Bloom, another additional masculine touch.  I added green, blue and yellow butterflies to the clusters as a final touch!

I hope this layout will inspire you to reach for those florals and use them on your next masculine themed layout!
