Theresa - Candy Coated Christmas

Hi friends, are any of you working on Christmas In July? I have been, so I could work towards finishing my 2024 December Daily. A sketch is the perfect way to get inspiration for a quick layout for any album, but is fabulous for mini albums too. It requires reworking the template just a little, mainly to size the photos and elements down a bit. That is what I did for my layout today, I’ve sized everything down a bit and I also deleted a few of the circles so the layout doesn’t look to crowded. Interestingly enough, I chose the Hard Candy Christmas collection because it is probably my favorite Traci Reed collection of all time. This collection has a super fun torn paper PSD template located within the Ellies pack and it follows this sketch beautifully! So I also borrowed that and incorporated the torn papers. What a great template to work with! Happy crafting!

Ana - Over The Moon

I may have gone a little overboard with the photos for this layout. The sketch only has one photo, but I ended up using four just because this memory deserved every single one of them.
This layout is about my third pop-up here in Saudi Arabia, and while it didn’t exactly go as planned, it turned into one of those days that reminded me just how lucky I am to have such great people in my life.
Partway through the event, I had a little accident and had to leave for about two hours. I was worried about my booth, but without missing a beat, my friends stepped in and took over for me until I got back.
When I returned, they told me that several people had stopped by looking for me. They weren’t able to get their names, but if you’re one of those who came by that day, thank you so much. I’m so sorry I wasn’t there to meet you, but I truly appreciate that you took the time to visit.
And to the friends who have supported me through all three of my pop-ups, whether you visited, shopped, or simply cheered me on, thank you. Your support means more than you know. And of course, thank you to my husband, who has always been my biggest supporter and partner in my these crafty adventures since day 1.
So yes… I really was over the moon with all the love I received that day - from my husband, my friends, and even complete strangers. That’s why this page simply couldn’t be limited to one photo. Some memories deserve a little extra space.
Now, onto the sketch!
One of my favorite things about this Sketchy Sunday layout is how easy it is to recreate. If you have patterned paper, you’re already halfway there! Just cut a bunch of circles in different sizes and arrange them around your photo(s). The circles themselves carry the decorating on their own that you hardly need any other die-cut embellishments at all.
This sketch basically just lets the papers do most of the work. The only extra touch I added was some splatters using Dylusions White Linen Ink Spray, which gave the page a little more texture. And tbh, I love ink splatter effects! It kind of makes you seem like a pro just splattering and spraying around the page! Haha!
Sketchy Sunday 77 is a fun sketch that can easily be adapted for one photo, or four, if your heart says so!

Kristin - True North

I feel like I could set sail with this seafaring layout I created using the True North collection. I had an adorable photograph of my little captain and the circular elements in the sketch made me think of life preserver rings...I had to make sure I got one on the layout! I picked red, blue, light blue, and pink nautical pattern papers from the collection and used the alphas to create my title of "Ahoy Matey." I added stickers from the collection to the top left and bottom right of the photograph. I also added buoy stickers behind the photograph to add additional interest. Finally, I added rope stickers that say "set sail" to the bottom right cluster as an additional subtitle.

Hanna - True Story (Retired)

This sketch with circles made me think of the figure or number 8. My BFF her son is turning 8 next week so I wanted to make a card and this sketch was perfect for it. I also used it for the Summer Scrap-a-Thon over at Sweet Shoppe Designs, which challenges you to choose a movie and the matching assignment. Which was grunge, circles and movement. So this photo was perfect! I incorporated the 8 and added lots of circles and some paint. The True Story collection had some perfect circles to use. Love how this turned out!
