Documenting Alaska with the True North Collection

Working on a big project with lots of photos?  It's important to have a plan to maximize photo spots but still allow for all the pretty stuff and a bit of journaling too of course! I’m back at working on my Alaska 6”x 8” album documenting our (very long) day on a fishing expedition. I know that I have many other things I want to document so I need to keep my pages rather flat but still pretty and fun! I am using a combination of pocket pages and outside the page protector pages.

I really wanted to document our hilarious (and very cold) day with a few fun pics.  I had a fun group photo, and then of course a few other detail photos. I use the Project Life app to combine two photos (3x4”) into one 4x6” - it’s much easier for printing and worked with the page protector from the previous page.

On the right hand side I really wanted to dress up the spread so I chose this cute pattern and made a flip up - it gives space for a large photo, 2 more 3” x 4” photos and my journaling. A flip up is a great way to triple the amount of real estate you can use for your project.

The larger full page canvas also allows for me to use this great acrylic piece from my stash.  While that does add bulk - it is flat and I love that it pairs so perfectly with the colors and theme!

I love being able to add additional labels, tags and twine.  I easily take the printable sticker sheets that Traci provides in every kit and make them smaller to better fit my 6” x 8” sized album.  You can then cut them with your Silhouette, Cricut or even fussy cut.  Today I did fussy cut, but I did finally learn how to use my Silhouette - and its so, so much easier.

Give this tips a try to help tackle your big projects this summer.  I know I will be using them all to complete my Alaska book with Traci’s fun products
