50 Story Prompts that Will Help You Document New Places in June!
June often opens the door to travel. Road trips start stacking up, suitcases come out of storage, and everyday routines begin to stretch into something a little looser and more sun-soaked. Whether it’s a big vacation, a quick weekend getaway, or small local adventures, this month naturally lends itself to stories shaped by travel and change of scenery.
That’s the inspiration behind this month’s Story Foundations prompt list. The June edition includes 50 story and photo prompts designed to help you capture both the big trips and the in-between travel moments that make the season feel alive. There’s no pressure to use them in order or work through them daily. Think of it more like a creative travel companion you can open whenever you need ideas.
Some of the prompts focus on the obvious highlights like packing lists, airport moments, hotel stays, and destination snapshots. Others lean into the quieter parts of travel that often end up being the most memorable: the drive itself, the snacks along the way, the waiting, the wandering, and the small details of unfamiliar places.
The goal is to help you document travel as it actually unfolds, not just the postcard version of it. The excitement before you leave, the rhythm of being on the road, the surprises you don’t plan for, and the little routines that form wherever you land all become part of the story.
In the end, it’s not just about where you go, but what the journey feels like while you’re there. June is a chance to capture that full experience, piece by piece, so it doesn’t fade once you’re back home.

Need some inspiration for how to incorporate these prompts into your memory keeping? The TRD team picked a few prompts that inspired them and created pages!
Becky - “A Window View” using the Anywhere But Here Collection
Having just come back from a holiday to Barbados I have a ton of photos to scrap so chose the prompt ‘A Window View’. I had a few photos I could have chosen but decided to go with 2 taken from the plane window. I used Anywhere But Here which is a great travel collection and based it on a PageMaps sketch. I can see me using more of this collection over the coming months!
Caroline - “A Favorite Scene from the Day” using the Story Foundations: Brighter Days Collection
The warm weather has arrived here in the Uk and is not going to stay long… so I treated our pup to a puppy paddling pool, sprinkler pool and some other fun things.
I managed to snap some fun photos of his first go in the pool (I definitely had more fun than him!!!). I worked with those for the prompt “a favorite scene from the day” as this time was definitely a fave (and one to repeat each day while the sun is here!!!)
I enjoyed working with the sunshine-y elements from the April collection “Brighter Days” and a colour palette of blue and yellow from that kit.
I love how this looks and I am so loving pocket pages again this year … the Story Foundations collections are making my album pages so beautifully coherent whilst also all being unique.
Allie - “A Place You Spent More Time than Expected” using the Story Foundations: Milestones Collections
For this month’s Pick a Prompt, I picked “A place you spent more time than expected” and documented our school’s “Spanish Heritage Night” that I help run.. and the day of, I was at the school 8am to 9pm! But it’s always a fun night, full of fun and celebration and worth the extra work and time! I wanted to use a mix of the Story Foundation collections — but mostly the Milestone collection, because it fits so well with that celebration feel!
Karidan - “A Photo from Your Camera Roll This Week” using the Wildflower Collection
I have been loving the prompts that Traci has been providing each month! It is helping me stretch my layouts even further when I am in a little funk! This month I just picked a picture from my camera roll THIS WEEK! Like it felt so amazing to scrapbook something that JUST happened! I choose a big project that my husband and I just finished and one that I have been dreaming about for years now! I pulled out the Wildflower kit and just used the labels to highlight a few things about the project and then did a before and after picture! PERFECT and documented!!! I will be coming back to these lists for a while!
Noemi - “A Quick Stop that Turned into a Moment” using the Wander & Wonder Collection
I am loving using prompts to let creativity flow. It really helps you think outside of the typical moments we document. When I read the prompt “A quick stop that turned into a moment,” I immediately thought about this experience.
I saw a video about this gallery and decided to make a quick visit just to check it out, but I became fascinated with the art, so I stayed much longer than planned, appreciating all the details and taking lots of photos.
I have been experimenting with the traveler’s notebook size this year and decided to print a full page photo of one of the paintings. I used the Wander and Wonder collection, which is perfect for all kinds of adventures, including being a tourist in my own city.
