Traci - I Voted
I love, love, loved the idea of putting 6 photos on a layout, but really, I had a landscape photo that I just had to scrap too, so I adapted this sketch to have one Photo Booth strip and then a horizontal photo and 3x4 card to fill the space and I love the way it came out! It was perfect for sharing screenshots of us making the news as well as our own photos!
Michelle - Poolside
As soon as I saw this sketch paired with the Poolside collection, I instantly knew which photos I wanted to use. The only catch? Most of the photos I took back in 2003 were horizontal. My fix was simple—just rotated the whole design a quarter turn in Affinity Photo. Problem solved! I love how the photo strips ended up creating a fun little timeline of my boys asking, again and again, for me to watch them jump.
Caroline - Trailblazer
I love working with Traci’s sketches and as soon as I saw this one I knew I wanted to convert it into a Traveller’s Notebook spread! I chose to work with the “Trailblazer” collection as I still had some papers and elements in my space from a previous project.
As I was working at a smaller scale I opted to reduce the number of photos I put on my spread for balance. Other than this I stuck pretty close to the sketch in terms of my placement of things.
You may notice that the only major difference is that I do not have a diagonal divide between my two papers. This is totally do-able on a TN spread, I simply opted to go with the more linear look of the divided page.
I love how this one turned out and I can’t wait to see what other Team Members and the TRD Community choose to do with this great sketch.
Noemi - Autumn Enchantment
Sketches are such a great way to find inspiration or challenge yourself. I used the Bountiful collection to document a scrapbooking retreat. I couldn't choose just one paper, so I decided to play with five of them to create a pattern and I loved the texture it added to the layout. I used the same photo sizes suggested in the sketch but removed the paper strips behind the photos. Finally, I fussy cut butterflies and hearts from my paper scraps to add some tiny elements around the photos.
Nicole - Strong AF
This month’s sketch challenge features a favorite of mine - lots of photos on a single page design! This one worked out perfectly to show off my daughters first cheer camp outfits. The two photos strips was a fun way to separate the different days of her camp and I loved the fun tilted layer on the background. I used the Strong AF collection and was able to use a lot of scraps from a previous project with this line.
