Project Life 2026 Week 4: Scrapbooking When There's Less to Scrapbook
Week 4 of my Project Life album felt a little different, and honestly, a little challenging. After a strong start to the year, I ran headfirst into that familiar creative wall: scrapper’s block. Add in a quieter week filled with snow days, feeling under the weather, and fewer photos overall, and I found myself staring at my supplies wondering how I was going to pull this spread together.
Instead of forcing a story that wasn’t there, I decided to lean into the reality of the week. Not every seven-day stretch is packed with big moments, and that is exactly why I love documenting this way. This layout became less about “events” and more about mood, routine, and small slices of life. The Story Foundations: Faves collection was the perfect fit because of its flexibility and strong visual elements.
With fewer photos to work with, I shifted my focus to pattern and color. I let the cards and papers do more of the heavy lifting, using bold designs and cohesive tones to create movement across the spread. Repeating colors and playful graphic elements helped everything feel intentional, even though the week itself felt slower and a bit subdued.
I also gave myself permission to include content that might normally feel secondary. A favorite snack, a cozy at-home moment, books read, and those everyday details that often get overlooked. These “filler” pieces ended up grounding the layout and giving it personality. They tell the story of the week just as clearly as a stack of photos would have.
One of my favorite parts of this spread is how balanced it feels despite the lighter storytelling. By mixing journaling cards, decorative cards, and photos, the layout still feels full without feeling crowded. It is a good reminder that a successful Project Life page is not about quantity. It is about capturing the feeling of the week.
If you are ever facing a low-photo week or a creative slump, consider this your nudge to play with design instead of stressing over content. Experiment with pattern, lean on your products, and trust that even the quieter weeks deserve a place in your album.
