Kicking Up Memories: Creating a Soccer-themed Scrapbook Layout with Kristin

I have so many children sporting events to document, from soccer to basketball to dance.  I often find myself struggling to want to create sports-related layouts partly because it is difficult to find sports-related collections to create with—Traci has that covered with her Sports & Band category!

With the excitement surrounding the World Cup, I found myself wanting to create a soccer layout and I decided to document a couple photographs of my son after he won his soccer tournament last year.

I used black cardstock from my stash as a base.  I then chose three different papers from the soccer sports collection that would work well with my photographs.  I found a basic star cutfile on Cricut Design Space and cut out the three papers using my Cricut Maker.  I layered them on the left side of the layout to create a fun focal point.

Traci had the perfect soccer net in her digital bundle and I knew I had to use that on my layout.  I cut the net out using my Cricut Maker and layered it behind my photographs to create more interest.  I also cut out a soccer ball from the collection and placed that to the right of the photographs.

I chose many of the green ephemera in Traci’s collection to create clusters around the photographs to match my son’s green jersey.  I also used green banners to drape across the page to create more visual interest.  To add pops of color, I added orange elements to the clusters like the phrase “GOOOAL!,” soccer balls with orange cones, and arrows, as well as some additional orange elements.  I also added a green acrylic whistle from my stash in front of the soccer ball.

And, finally, to complete the layout, I added soccer-themed epoxy pieces from my stash to each of the three stars.

I hope this layout inspires you to document the moments that matter most, both on and off the field, by creating a sports-themed layout of your own!
