Celebrating a Quieter Kind of Love with Story Foundations: Faves
One of the things I appreciate most about Traci Reed Designs Story Foundations: Faves is how naturally it supports quieter stories — the ones rooted in routine, care, and the everyday rhythms that shape our lives over time.
That’s the space I wanted this layout to live in.
This page documents the small acts of love that define this season for me. Caring for my mom isn’t marked by big moments or milestones. Instead, love shows up in steady, practical ways — getting outside for a walk, sharing meals, running errands, helping her feel like herself, and beginning each day with coffee and medicine. These moments may seem ordinary, but they carry a great deal of meaning.
From the start, I approached the design with simplicity and repetition in mind. To keep the focus on the story, I worked within a simple grid, kept the photos the same size, and limited embellishment so repetition, not decoration, became the visual anchor, much like the steady support I give my mom each day.
Rather than building large embellishment clusters, I repeated heart elements and small floral details throughout the page, allowing them to act as quiet visual anchors instead of decorative statements. The clean structure gives the photos and words room to breathe, while subtle layering adds softness without introducing visual noise.
The title, Love This, reflects that mindset. It isn’t meant to romanticize caregiving or simplify it. Instead, it acknowledges the truth of this season — that love often looks like showing up, again and again, in ways that are consistent and unseen.
This layout isn’t about celebrating perfection or capturing a highlight moment. It’s about recognizing the quiet presence of love in the everyday — the routines and rituals that hold a life together, even when they don’t announce themselves as special.
Stories like this remind me how powerful it can be to document the everyday, especially the moments and small acts of love that don’t announce themselves as special.
