10 Travel Prompts I’ll Actually Use with Caroline

Hi everyone,

I’m here on Traci’s blog today sharing some travel prompt ideas that have come directly from the products in the new Destinations story collection that has just launched in the shop.

My husband and I are just back from a 3 week trip in our camper van and I have alot of photos to scrapbook. This collection is going to be perfect for that BUT the collection dropped after we had started the trip and so its going to take me some time to go through my photo and plan out the stories I want to tell… which is great… but we have another trip coming up next week and so those photos are going to mount up quickly!!

So, I have decided to create myself 10 story prompts BEFORE we leave this time. These are prompts that I KNOW I will memory keep when we return (or even whilst we are on the road). This means I can also capture some really intentional photos that will help to convey that prompts - and photos that are even composed to hold the products that have inspired me!

As I know that I will be working with “Destinations” to capture my memories I turned to the collection to inspire some ideas … and it was actually difficult to whittle it down to 10 as there are so many products to spark prompts!!

Below I will share the prompts I have created, my thoughts around how/when I may use each - along with a photo of the products that inspired the prompt. My intention is to work with these products when I actually put together my pages for these prompts.

Prompt 1 - Away We Go!

I love to capture a photo of us as we leave in our camper and so I know this is a story that will be in my album.

Prompt 2 - This Pup was Born to Roam!

One thing we were certain of when we chose our pup back in January was that he would be a camper van pup…. And he is! He loves to travel and so I definitely want to capture a cute photo of him early on in the trip.

Prompt 3 - That Time We Chose the sScenic Route…

We travel to alot of remote places in our camper and often have some beautiful views along the way. I want to remember to pull over and take a photo of one of these … rather than just snapping the destination.

Prompt 4 - Must See Locations

I don’t tend to scrapbook our bucket list of locations … so this is a great reminder to do that … even if we don’t get to them all.

Prompt 5 - Detour & Explore

Very often we go with the flow and take a detour. I love these die-cuts as products for capturing that layered up on a big photo.

Prompt 6 - Stan’s Favourite Spot

On our last trip away our pup had a favourite place in our camper van. I want to make sure I take a photo of him in that spot (or his new favourite spot) while we are away this time.

Prompt 7 - Time to Move On!

Our style of travel is that sometimes we stay in one place for a while, other times we move on after one night. There can often be a deeper story behind our choices and this is a great reminder to capture those (which I often forget to do)

Prompt 8 - Seeing the Sights

We love to visit ancient sites here in the UK (stonecircles, standing stones etc) so I know I will have some sightseeing stories to capture along the journey.

Prompt 9 - Taking time out to reflect

Having quiet, reflective time while we are away is important for both of us. It is something we make sure we fit into our days but again is a part of our trips that I haven’t actually captured before.

Prompt 10 - A Mindful Moment

I want to be sure that I capture at least one moment of mindfulness while we are away. It is important for me to drop into Presence and this card really echoes the importance of that for me.

Having these prompts plus the products already pulled out is making me feel really easeful and excited about documenting our next trip. I have written these down in my journal so that I remember the prompts and will aim to capture one of these each day of our 2 week trip.

I hope I have inspired you to go through the “Destinations” collection and pull together some prompts that will work for you with your next trip away. This is a technique I have done for myself a few times before with Traci’s collections and I really recommend it (for example, I created 9 prompts to help me capture photos of my daughter’s birthday inspired by the previous collection “Milestones”)

Bye for now

Caroline
