Design a Mini Suitcase Album with Allie
Hey friends, Allie from AllieScraps here to share a fun travel mini album with you! I created the covers and the inside pages as a “base” to add some of my travel photos and memories to this summer -- we have lots of trips planned in the next few months!
I’ve fallen in LOVE with shaped mini albums with cut files lately, and when I saw the little suitcase in the Destinations stamp set, I knew that had to be the base for my album! I love these small albums, because I can leave them out and my kids and visitors just tend to grab them and flip through when they “feel” smaller and less overwhelming.
I wanted the album to be a little smaller than 4x6, so it felt extra mini -- I also love sticking 3x4 cards in my albums, and wanted this to feel slightly bigger than that. I grabbed the PNG file from the stamp set and erased some of the extra stuff on the suitcase, like the travel stamps, just so it was a simpler cut file. I cut 4 of those out, and backed them with patterned paper and cardstock. I love the dimension that the cut files add to the covers!
For the inside, I cut out some cardstock pages that were slightly smaller than the suitcase, and then covered some of them with patterned paper -- I love the patterned journaling cards because I can print a lot of the patterns on just a few pieces of paper -- perfect for mini books where I want to use as many of the coordinating patterns as possible!
Finally, to keep it all together, I used some of my favorite small 3 ring binder clips -- I think they match the little bit of the“vintage” feel the suitcase gives!
I can’t wait to fill this up with photos and extra ephemera and stickers!
Here’s the project on Cricut if you want to make it yourself!
