Finishing-That-Album-Formula with Karidan
Well well well… even us scrapbookers that seemingly scrapbook a lot have unfinished albums. I honestly have quite a few! I get bogged down, I get bored with an album, I get mental blocks with albums. One of those is an album of our first cruise in 2024 and it usually is because I just have SOOOO many pictures and just can’t narrow down what I actually want the album to look like! I started this album right after the cruise with one of Traci’s other travel kits but barely got through it. I have scrapbooked pictures from this trip for our family albums because that has seemed easier than a whole album but I really want to knock this album out! So when I seen Traci’s travel kit from this year coming out I KNEW I HAD TO PULL IT BACK OUT!
The first thing I also try to do is figure out SOME type of formula but that just was NOT coming together AGAIN so when it doesn’t I usually just try to put together day one or however you are starting your album and when working through that I feel a formula starts coming together! I knew I wanted a vellum divider and of course if you have seen my albums I wanted to start with a full photo spread for each day.
Starting with a full page spread though does call for a bit a planning but I was like: “Figure that out later, DO not let that stop progress!” I then decided on that full page spread that I was going to highlight 3 things from each day! Loved that and moved on because I OVER complicate EVERY thing sometimes!
I did document this whole process in my youtube video and you will hear several times saying I will come back to that... I will come back to that. I just wanted to keep progress going and not get stuck!
I had a ton of pictures of the boys on the tight rope course so I knew that was a perfect spot to have a 3x4 pocket hold those and I wanted to incorporate that vellum divider so each day I will keep “extra” pictures in a 3x4 pocket that is secured to the vellum or even transparent divider!
Now when you do one of those you have to figure out what you want to do with the back of it well at least I do! So I decided that I will take a 3x4 card that will math the front and stamp out a phrase and day one was a Sea Day so that is what I choose for this day
The rest of this album will be filled with 3x4 photos of food and other mini events combined with full page photos! I am going to try and keep it simple and GET this album DONE! So do not feel bad about pulling those albums back out and getting them COMPLETE!
