Mojo On Vacation? Re-Use a Page Recipe with Melinda!

Have you ever found yourself with little scrappy mojo?

Knowing that jumping in & creating something will spark, at the very least, a little creative mojo?

Ever wondered how to do just that?

I’m here today to share one of my favourite ways to just that using stash (or even brand new products - whatever grabs your interest first!) & something that you’ve already created!

For my layout today I am starting with this older layout of my own that I LOVE!

TIP: Make sure you find something that you LOVE - it doesn’t have to be something you created but for me, for today, that’s where I started!

Now that you have your inspiration, pick your photo and story.

In my case, I am going with the exact same design & using 2 x 3x4 photos.

With your photos in mind, pick the collection/s that work with your photos/story you are telling and gather supplies and pretty much duplicate your inspiration piece!

I am using my original layout to choose 2 x full size background papers plus 1 x extra in a neutral. And am choosing those based on the colours in my photos - orange & grey. I knew I wanted a second colour so chose something on the opposite side of the colour wheel - teal - to create contrast & interest.

With my colour choices I ended up using 3 different Traci Reed Designs collections:

Orange Paper: Weekender

Teal Paper: Autumn Enchantment

Grey - Over the Moon

I know, not collections one would automatically combine but going by colour only I’ve managed to combine them and am so happy with my end result!

The last supplies that I had left to add were, of course, embellishments.

I’ve jumped into my stash and pulled orange, teal & grey options from all 3 kits and you can see how well they all work together!

I did add in 1 extra colour for a bit of a pop which was yellow and I pulled the yellow pieces from the Weekender collection. You can see what that adds to my colour palette!

With all of that done, I truly just followed along with my original page & voila!

You can see that I’ve shifted my embellishments clusters a little but otherwise gone with much the same page. And no one would ever know!

I’ll leave you with a few close up’s and a reminder that you don’t have to always re-invent the wheel when you feel like creating. Sometimes taking the “design” process out of the equation makes it simpler to create and we all know that the more we create, the mojo we have!!

Happy scrapping friends, I’ll see you next time!
