Creating an Interactive Two Page Poolside Layout with Bruna!

In scrapbooking, using repeated elements creates cohesion by gently guiding the viewer's eye across the page. On a double-page spread, element repetition is even more important! Repetition brings harmony and order, linking the photos to the papers and embellishments without making the design look cluttered or heavy and avoiding the feeling of having two separate projects.

A Snap-sized album (6x8) is perfect for a double-page project!

I chose a striped paper for my base, placing a wider strip in the center of one page and a narrower strip of the same paper on the other. Since the paper was already quite busy, I used a white base with just a pink border to give the eye a place to rest.

On the page with the wider strip, I placed just one photo and a few embellishmentsólike flowers and brads that were repeated on the other page. Note: I punched holes in the white page to insert the brads *before* gluing it to the pink base, so the prongs wouldn't show on the back.

Then, I decided to create a grid layout on the page with the thinner strip, using two photos and two cards. On one of the cards, I created a flap by folding a piece of paper and secured it with an arrow and a brad; I hid my journaling underneath.
