I was excited to start my Mix It Up Monday project, combining Poolside with Story Foundations Chapter 7: Carefree. I knew right away that I wanted to document one of our favorite Disney vacation traditions: pool days!
I combined patterned papers from both collections to create a wave-like design that represents rolling water across the page. Hand stitching every scalloped edge helped emphasize the wave effect and added just the right amount of texture. There are so many adorable stickers in Poolside, and I especially love the navy in the color palette. I had fun picking and choosing the perfect embellishments to complete the layout. An offset title and journaling strips finished off the page.
I love that some of the most magical Disney memories aren't even made in the parks, and these two collections were the perfect combination for documenting one of my favorite poolside stories.

As I’m working my way through our Bali pages, another 2 fun, bright & happy collections to add to my stash is certainly not a bad thing!
I’ve used all of my paper layers (I think) from the Carefree Days collection; actually the sunburst is from Poolside!! And all of my embellishments are from Poolside. I’ve pulled it all together (not that these collections need any help!) with the colours in my title - from my stash - and a few gold elements!

Time to mixe it up. I have this old picture of me which really embodies summer and carefree days, way back when. I found this template from the Bottoms Up Series which has waves in it. I really honed in on the colors in the picture and decided to change the orientation of the paper strips to the photo. I created three clusters in a triangle to guide the eye and picked some fun ellies. I extracted the title from a journaling card as it was perfect for the layout!

The Poolside and Story Foundations Carefree Days are the perfect pair. These two collections complement each other so well. With these two collections you have everything you need to scrapbook all your summer memories. For my layout I documented one of our many pool photos capturing the joy of being on vacation and playing in the water, nothing could be better. The elements from both collections came together seamlessly on the page. One of my favorite elements was taking the water mixed media elements from the Poolside collection and adding it to the blue solid paper of Carefree Days and the Rainbow paper from Poolside to create the fun water splashes.

One of my favorite things about Traci Reed Designs is how effortlessly her collections work together. For this scrapbook layout, I combined elements from the Poolside collection with the Carefree Days kits, and they blended together beautifully.
The bright summer colors, playful patterns, and fun embellishments from both collections create a cohesive look without feeling overly matched. I am always a sucker for the sunburst papers so I used that for my main paper! The Poolside papers bring all the sunny, vacation vibes, while the Carefree Days July kit adds the perfect pops of color and seasonal touches to help tell the story.
I love mixing kits because it gives me so many more creative options. Instead of feeling limited to a single collection, I can pull papers, stickers, word art, and embellishments from multiple kits to create something that feels unique while still looking coordinated. Traci's signature style makes that incredibly easy, her color palettes and design elements complement one another so well.
