A Nostalgic Fall Movie October Daily Page and Freebie! with Jack & Skelly

This year, my heart’s been leaning into that nostalgic Halloween mood more than ever — vintage vibes, cozy chills, favorite cozy and campy autumn and halloween movies, more so than scary ones. So I decided to create a nostalgic fall movie list and document it in my October Daily with a page that honors that vintage vibe

First, I planned the layout around one big idea: making it feel cinematic. I designed film strip tags (with room for movie titles or shots) that I hung via eyelets right on the page. One of the filmstrips houses my journaling instead of movie posters. It makes the page feel balanced but gives it a little pop too.

Next came the title: “Now Playing: October Nostalgia” spread across both pages I used the Retro Marquee Alphas from the Jack & Skelly collection to evoke that marquee-sign theater feel. Bold, vintage, and totally on theme. Around that, I layered stickers and word bits from the same collection for little accent touches: ghosts, pumpkins, stars, and more of the fun vintage icons from the Jack & Skelly collection.

The film strips and title anchor the visual weight, while stickers and accents fill in without overwhelming the photos. Every detail, from where I placed the eyelets to how I spaced the strips — was about keeping that balance between movie-theme and memory keeping.

If you’re feeling nostalgic this Halloween too, I encourage you to use a similar approach: pick a central design motif (like film strips, old TV screens, or vintage posters), make it interactive, layer your title with attitude, and let the memories shine. It’s a layout that feels fun to make and even more fun to look back on.

Here’s a reel showing my process!
