Three Simple But Effective October Daily Formulas for When You're Behind

Let’s face it, ANY daily album is hard to keep up with, even when you love creating them! We all fall behind and often quit the album entirely because we feel like every single page has to be a complicated masterpiece because that’s all we ever see go viral on the internet to be inspired by.

However, an album is an experience, and not every single page has to be complicated to make that experience worthwhile.

Below, I’ve created three easy-to-replicate page formulas for your mini album that you can finish in minutes but are still beautifully put together for your album!

Formula #1: One 4x6 + Two 3x4s

This is a common page protector size in mini albums, but have you ever tried it directly on the page? There’s something magical about having a patterned or solid paper behind your photos rather than a page protector dividing them!

For this page, I kept it super simple, using just 2 cards, 1 paper, 1 patterned card and 3 embellishments from the Amber Glow collection!

Bonus Step if you’re feeling it: If you’re needing a little more space, add 2 3x4s to your page by using a paper hinge to create a flip-up! Mine reveals my journaling and another photo.

Formula #2: Photo Enlargement + 3x4 Photo

Have a photo you love and want to highlight? Blow it up to album size (in this case 8.25x7”) and use it as your background rather than a patterned paper (or keep it even simpler and use it as a full-page photo.)

If you ARE going to use it as a background, make sure you choose a photo with a lot of open space - like the sky in my photo - so you have somewhere to put your 3x4.

You can stop your page here, or embellish and/or add a (2) 3x4 page protector to extend your space and add journaling:

You can embellish even further if you like! I added a title and a few stickers from the Haunting collection to my page to finish it off. I even inserted a 2 (3x4) page protector on the rings to add a journal card and another photo.

Formula #3: Mats on Mats on Mats

Sometimes I want to highlight a photo but it doesn’t exactly lend itself to a full page (in this case, the photo was horizontal) so instead I make it large (5x5 on this page) and then create visual interest with lots of papers rather than embellishments.

With the 2” circle grounding the daily number, and my journaling in the back of the 3x4 pockets from the previous page, this page is good and done if I want it to be

But I did choose to add a little candy corn confetti for color:

And that’s it! Three simple pages I created in less than 15 minutes each that tell my story, add a little interactivity if I want, and are all adorable! Remember, the album is for YOU, not to impress the internet!
