Falling for Fall Florals with Danica

One of my favorite parts of working with the Hearth & Hollow collection is how easily it lends itself to big, full, dimensional clusters, and for this layout, I really leaned into that by creating a cascading trail of flowers, leaves, and sticker elements. I wanted the page to feel like everything was gently drifting across the background, echoing that cozy, autumn energy without overwhelming the photo. Starting with a template from Fiddle-Dee-Dee, I created a strong base layer of leaves helped establish the flow, and from there I built upward with larger florals to anchor the shape.

Once that foundation was in place, I added medium and small embellishments to guide the eye down the page. This is where the movement really comes to life: alternating sizes and colors creates that natural “falling” effect. I also tucked some pieces behind the photo and let others overlap it, which keeps everything feeling connected instead of floating separately. The Hearth & Hollow florals have such great texture baked in that even printed flat, they layer beautifully.

To add even more depth, I used a mix of dimensional-looking stickers, enamel-style pieces, and flat elements. The key is variety: a sequin cluster here, a button there, a tiny heart where the cluster thins out. These little touches help transition from heavy clustering to more open space so the layout doesn’t feel top-heavy. I also made sure a few elements barely touch the edge of the page, which creates a sense of movement beyond the borders.

The end result is a layout that feels warm, full, and dynamic, perfect for telling an autumn story. If you’re wanting to try this technique, start with a loose cascading direction, build with big shapes first, and then let your smaller pieces fall into place. Hearth & Hollow makes it easy to play with depth and movement, and it’s such a fun way to bring your photos to life.
