The papers and embellishments were perfect for pics my son shared for his anniversary trip to Door County Wisconsin. Hearth and Hollow exudes warmth, the comfort of family, and the coziness of fall. I wanted to document our first fire of the fall season by creating a wreath element in the center of the layout by cutting the type written paper into a circle and surrounding the circle with the stickers from the collection that perfectly capture the feeling of home and the beauty of fall! I decided to add a floral border to the top and bottom of the layout by fussy cutting out the beautiful floral paper included in the collection.

This layout began with a selection of photos from our 2024 Thanksgiving celebration. I love doing multi-photo layouts to show all the fun that was had, and also because on this particular holiday I didn’t manage to get one photo with everyone in it. Bummer! I love using the Hearth and Hollow collection for Thanksgiving layouts; the colors are gorgeous with fall leaves and of course the gratitude theme provides the perfect theme. I’ve grouped my photos all together across the page, with one serving as a focal point, and the title balancing the lower half of the page. The beautiful wood grain and floral patterned papers are a great backdrop against the different textures I’ve included. Speaking of textures, this collection has a variety of textures for you: the Happy word art is knitted, and the leaves are quilted. Truly a textural feast for you!

When I first opened the Hearth & Hollow collection, I immediately felt that cozy, lived-in warmth that echoes everything I love about fall memory-keeping. Traci’s soft plaids, warm florals, and charming home accents were the perfect backdrop for documenting our Thanksgiving 2024 - our little “family turkey trot,” a bustling kitchen, sleepy pups, and a table full of love.
To pull the story together visually, I built a small home-inspired scene on the right side of the double-page spread and sprinkled floral clusters throughout to guide the eye across both pages. A layer of vellum helped anchor one of my embellishment groupings without adding visual weight, letting those beautiful patterns shine. I journaled straight onto a Traveler’s Notebook signature element, trimming it down and tucking it under a photo.

To me, the Hearth and Hollow collection just feels like a cozy blanket-- warm and homey. I thought there was no better way to use the collection on a page that LOOKS like a cozy knitted blanket — along with pictures of my kids (and dog) wrapped in blankets… and those photos were super easy to find since my kids love being wrapped up in blankets! I used the “cozy” and “happy” word art to create a fun title, and for the “&” I clipped a sock element over the & to give it a similar “knitted” feel.
