Focus On: Flower Child
This week’s Sweet Steal is none other than the Flower Child collection!
Flower Child holds a place near and dear to my heart. I created this collection for my 40th birthday as an homage to all the 70s, 80s, and 90s babies out there! It perfectly encapsulates all the best parts of that era while modernizing the vibe for the 2020s!
Flower Child is one of the most FUN collections I’ve ever made AND worked with and every layout I ever see with it makes me smile.
And better yet, it’s 50-58% off for the next few days only!

For some reason, the Flower Child collection always makes me think of my mama. I think it’s because it’s filled with such positive affirmations and things she’s said to me my whole life, so this week I decided to scrap my mama! I started with three selfies we took last time we were together and a template from Cindy Schneider and actually let the paper piecing do most of the heavy lifting on this layout, using almost exclusively solids for the diamonds! Normally I like to lean really far into the patterned papers but just the colors of the Flower Child collection bring me such joy!

The Flower Child collection is one of my favorite collections by Traci. I love the retro vibe of the collection, and the daisy style flowers are some of my favorites. I decided to focus on those flowers for my layout. I created the background using two papers from the collection. For the strips of color, I cut apart the sun ray pattern paper, roughed up the edges to lay under my photo to draw your attention. I used one of the premade titles from the collection and embellished the page with all the florals. I adore the resu

Flower Child is probably my ALL TIME FAVOURITE Traci Reed collection. I have made many many layouts using it. This layout is completely digital because silly me – I was half way through printing this out when my printer ran out of ink and I didn’t have a backup. Lucky me I think it still looks so fun, and one day when I do print it I will probably leave it as is. This is a big Ellie focused layout and I think the different styles and textures really make this layout come to life. I love the bright and layered final result and will definitely do something like this again.

Flower Child is one of my top collections from Traci! I remember doing some really fun things with this collection when it was first released and was so excited to get my hands back into it to create a layout to represent my reading! I decided to do a digital layout this time (that is my favorite way to do 12x12 layouts) and I just love the results. I love using the textured colors as a background to really make all those fantastic Ellies that Traci creates really pop, so that’s what I did here!
