Bringing Digital Glitter to Life with the Flower Child Collection!
One of my favorite things about the Flower Child collection is its happy, groovy vibe—and the way the faux glitter textures add that extra touch of sparkle without overpowering the design. But for this layout, I decided to take that digital shimmer one step further and give it some real-life sparkle and dimension. The result? A page that not only looks bright and cheerful but also catches the light in the most magical way.
To start, I printed my Flower Child elements as usual, including all those gorgeous faux glitter details in the flowers, hearts, and word art. Instead of leaving the glitter as a flat printed texture, I grabbed my trusty fineline glue pen and carefully traced over each area where the printable design had glitter. Because the pen lays down a fine, controlled line of adhesive, it let me follow the exact shapes without covering up the delicate printed details.
Quickly before the glue dried, I sprinkled on chunky holographic glitter—my favorite for projects like this because it’s see-through. That transparency meant the original printed colors and patterns from the Flower Child pieces still showed through, but with the addition of real sparkle that shifts and changes as you tilt the page. It’s like the faux glitter and real glitter fused together into one perfect layer.
I applied this technique to every spot in the layout where faux glitter appeared, from the flower centers to the heart embellishments and even some small accents on the butterflies. This created a sense of continuity across the page, tying all the elements together with a subtle but dazzling shimmer. I love how it adds texture without overwhelming the softer, dreamy heart background and layered diamond shapes.
This extra step is such a fun way to make digital supplies feel tactile and dimensional—especially for hybrid scrapbookers like me who want the flexibility of printables but the depth of traditional embellishments. It also gives your pages that “pick it up and look closer” factor, which is one of my favorite parts of scrapbooking.
So next time you use the Flower Child collection—or any digital kit with faux glitter—try bringing that sparkle to life! A little holographic glitter goes a long way toward making your layout shine, and it’s the perfect way to blend the best of both digital and physical scrapbooking worlds.
