December Daily 2023: Story Three

Today’s page is inspired by our Mix It Up Monday Post featuring the Festive and All Is Calm & All Is Bright collections and I’m combining Festive with All Is Bright!

Story Three

For today’s story, I decided to document the Christmas shopping “date” my husband and I went on yesterday. The story is going to be out of chronological order in my album but I’m ok with that (and will NEVER remember later - ha) because I really wanted to pair that adorable heart foundation page I made with the Festive collection with these photos!

I had already designed this page during Day One of my No-Stress December Daily Prep series this year and I actually designed both that pocket AND the page I paired it with in Episode 2 of last year’s series, so I had a good jumping off point!

I trimmed down the pocket from All Is Bright and added a tag from the Festive Currently Tags and one of the 3x8 signatures from Festive into the pocket and decorated the outside with the cluster I had already made + my number and a tree, both from Festive!

Combining the original All Is Bright foundation page with the Festive heart foundation page was going to be the tricky part!

For the opposite side of the heart, I added an enlargement from the day that cropped perfectly around our heads and then decorated it with snowflakes from All Is Bright and word bits from Festive.

I re-matted the lights, word art, and photo squares from the original white card stock onto one of the papers from Festive instead, spacing everything out a bit vertically to give myself more room for fun in between the photos, where I added presents from All Is Bright and the peppermint candies from Festive!

All in all, I think these two collections came together very well and I am pleased with the challenge and results!
