No Stress December Daily Prep 2023: Day One

Last year, my No-Stress December Daily Prep series was SO popular, I decided to bring it back again this year! I think we all get to a point where this project and all the inspiration available can overwhelm us, so I like to create a few easy pages and projects each year that I can use as jumping off points if I wish.

Nothing stressful, no crazy tools, just some good old fashioned filler pages that can hopefully inspire your pages too!

Use these ideas as-is or as a jumping off point for more complex pages if you wish!

For day one I’m using my brand new Festive collection! In addition to my Christmas Tree Mini album, I also created 4 fun pages!

The first page I created is a fun flip out page where both the top and bottom flaps flip open to reveal (eventually) a central image (I’m thinking 2 4x6s). The circle label in the middle is popped up on foam tape and holds down the flaps when closed.

On the top and bottom flaps, I chose to use two of the 4x6 cards from the Festive collection + some printed washi tape!

Next, I decided to use the Festive Currently Tags to create an acetate page so that they are “floating” in the album. I adhered the tags back to back on the page and then strung them with some trim from my stash.

In lieu of the blank white tags, when I’m ready to use the page, I will replace them with images. I can use photos of myself if desired or just go with book/album covers, etc.

My third page involves a not-so-new idea that’s floated around the interwebs for years, but I had a ton of scrap papers left over and couldn’t resist using them to make this beautiful patchwork heart!

I cut a bunch of 2” squares from my scraps and then cut them diagonally down the middle to create triangles, then arranged them on cardstock in a heart formation, making sure that the same patterns are separated from each other!

I added some placeholder embellishments from the Festive Digital Kit on the front in case I decide I want to add a photo there, and the back is blank and I think I will probably add a full photo when I use the page.

Lastly, I decided to do another clear page, this time as an intro to the season. I saw this idea from Paige Evans and knew it would be a great way to use up all those fun numbers from the Festive Stickers in a cohesive way.

I matted each of the numbers on more scraps from my previous pages, as well as punched out circles from patterned cards (the perfect size for this!) and then scored each circle 1/4” in at the top so that they would flip up easily.

I then used red line tape a the top to adhere it to cardstock then stuck the whole thing to the acetate!

Each of the circles flips up to reveal the white card stock and I think I’ll use it like an advent calendar at the beginning of the album that has a note for each day’s theme!
