5 Storytelling Prompts to Guide Scrapbook Pages All About You

As a photographer, I very much understand that I need to be in the photos. This is why I take many selfies. It’s not because I love taking them. I see them as capturing a moment of me wherever I’m at. Sometimes I journal a story. Other times, the photo is the story with no words.

This is a page I did using Traci’s My Story Matters. It is the most perfect kit for scrapping a page about you.

Remember that no one will care later that your hair was maybe a mess or that you didn’t like something about how you look. It does not matter. Your family will appreciate this moment you captured of a time in your life.

Here are other pages I have done with scrapping a photo of me using Traci’s kits.

Trailblazer is uplifting for encouraging pages.

The Manuscript is perfect for a moodier vibe…

But I keep coming back to My Story Matters because it’s perfect for telling your own story!

If you DO want to tell more about your own story but don’t have anything specific to say about the photo, try one of these prompts!

“Right now, I…”
Capture a snapshot of your life in this moment—what you’re reading, watching, drinking, listening to, or how you’re feeling.

“A part of my daily routine I don’t want to forget…”
Document the small habits, rituals, or comforts that make up your everyday life.

“Something people might not know about me…”
Share a hidden talent, a quirky habit, or a piece of your personality that deserves a page.

“When I look back at this season of life, I want to remember…”
Reflect on what’s meaningful right now—challenges, growth, joys, or lessons learned.

“If I could write a note to my future self…”
Imagine what you’d want yourself to know years down the road and journal it onto a page.
