Penny - Hearth & Hollow
For my take on Sketchy Sunday #79, I used the Hearth & Hollow collection to create a final Thanksgiving 2024 layout for my album. I stayed fairly close to the 3x3 grid structure of the sketch, but enlarged the square blocks to 3.25" to better showcase my photos and patterned papers. Instead of layering papers and tags around the outside of the grid, I added hand stitching for extra detail and texture. I finished the page with a centered title from the elements and layered floral clusters to keep everything cohesive, while still letting the photos and story lead the design. The finished page feels warm and cozy, which seemed like the perfect way to close out this 2024 Thanksgiving story.
Melinda - Story Foundations
This fun, haphazard grid design was super fun to play with!
I figured with the relaxed nature of the slightly tilted and off-set layers some fun, relaxed photo’s would pair perfectly with it. I dove into my stash of printed photos and found this set of 4 from school bookweek in August 2022. I have dug through my stash of Story Foundations bits and pieces to lean into the yellow, black and red colours to really accentuate the photos!
Luly - Cider Season
I love using Traci’s sketches to document my yearly memories - I have many of them saved in my “To Scrapbook” folder. I used this month’s sketch #79 with Cider Season to document some beautiful pics from this weekend. You don’t always have to go to a pumpkin patch to get fun fall photos - many times even the grocery store will have artistic display of gourds and pumpkins that you can use for you October Daily documenting!
Cider Season is one of my favorites - with its fall colors and all the PLAID! I am always drawn to plaid…and there are so many great options in this kit. I also love a grid and this sketch is perfect to document lots of little vignettes (for Fall in this case!)
Kristin - Besties Who Brunch
For Sketchy Sunday, I pulled out Besties Who Brunch to document a couple of photographs of my daughter and I. I used the yellow with white polka dot paper as my base and layered two heart pattern papers on top of the base paper. For the squares in the grid, I opted to use a light pink solid paper from the collection. Next, I placed florals in each cluster with heart hands in each cluster which were perfect to go along with my daughter's photograph of her heart hands! I also added an acrylic title to the center grid square, butterflies to each cluster, and a word phrase in each of areas where the sketch had journaling spots. Finally, I machine stitched zigzag stitches through each of the grid rows.
Ana - Wander & Wonder
It's time for another Sketchy Sunday, and for Sketch #79 I used Wander and Wonder, a collection I've been working with the past months when documenting our European cruise in both my junk journal and scrapbook layouts. Yes... I document a lot! Don't even get me started on how many journals I have!
For this layout, I documented our first stop: Madrid. The title, First Stop: Madrid, is also a little reminder to myself that I still have several more stops from this trip waiting to be scrapbooked. Thank goodness for Sketchy Sundays that has been a huge help in working through my ever-growing "to-scrapbook" list.
To add a little extra texture, I included some hand stitching. I really like hand stitching as I find it therapeutic. Though I was actually thinking between stitching or using a stitch effect stamp I was gifted last Christmas but I wanted a little calming therapy so hand stitching won.
I hope this layout inspires you to download the latest Sketchy Sunday sketch and get another memory documented!
Hanna - Haunting
I just got back from an awesome vacation. Loving all the fall colors, but also the decorations everywhere. We went to the largest Street Food Market in Nordic Europe, in Copenhagen. And the decorations were so colorful, they really popped. And made me grab the HAUNTING collection to scrap these photos.
I love the pocket page feel of this sketch, it’s so nice to showcase a few photos and put lots of layers and ellies on the page. Finishing it off with a nice 3D metallic title makes it really jump out. Love how this page really mimics the feel of the photos colorwise.
