Hanna - Equinox

The grid in this sketch really spoke to me. It made me think of a trellis I think and then when I saw Equinox in my stash it hit me….I need to scrap those sunflowers with these photos from our family vacation in France. I selected the colors that remind me of summer: yellow, green and light blue and offset them with the browns and dark blue. I used a lot of solids with a sprinkle of a few scalloped mats with a patterned paper. I heavily used the rule of triangles: 3 clusters and 3 photo spots too. On this grid it makes for an extra cohesive page. I hope I’ve captured these summer memories, as they’re so precious!

Melinda - Story Foundations: Destinations

As you can see, for this sketch I’ve adapted it to suit a pocket page and I love that I’m able to scrap with the spark I received in a different format!

I’m working my way through our Bali travel pages and these photos were perfect to pair with the sketch. I’ve followed along with the grid design and 3 photo’s on each side. I’ve used my title card as the 3rd “photo” on the front - I tend to identify 3x4 slots as either words or pictures.

I’ve pulled from my printed stash of this years AMAZING collections - Story Foundations; by colour. I think I have used, at least tiny pieces, something from every month’s release!

Karidan - Indivisible

Caroline - Story Foundations: Milestones

When I first saw the sketch, I really wanted to work at 12 x 12 size as I absolutely love a grid design! But in the end I chose to create a bespoke Travelers notebook spread for my daughter’s 6 x 8 story album. I think this shows the versatility of working sketches really well.

I kept the three photos in the placement they were on the sketch, but deviated from the rest of the grid quite a lot choosing distressed edges instead of stitching and layered paper squares and embellishments instead of the grid background. I did opt for some stitching and doodles for added interest and to bring in those lines from the sketch.

I love this so much that my next project is going to have to be a 12 x 12 working with the sketch!! Can’t wait to see what everyone else makes with this one.

Ana - Anywhere But Here

Hello crafty friends!

Sketchy Sunday #76 had me scrapbooking our recent vacation just two weeks after it happened, which is pretty impressive considering I still have trips from last year waiting for their turn! That’s exactly why I love scrapbook sketches. They take away the overthinking and let you jump straight into memory keeping.

For this double-page layout, I documented all the cruising memories - from relaxing sea days to our ship adventures after shore excursions (that’s basically just eating and casino!). I even included our SeaPass cards, which fit perfectly into the grid design of the sketch.

I used the Anywhere But Here collection, and it was the perfect choice for capturing all our travel memories. I love how versatile this sketch is, especially for creating coordinating double layouts!
