Project Life 2026 Week Seven: Well, This Week Sucked. Plus February Faves!

Some weeks in a Project Life album feel light and easy to document. Others… not so much. Week 7 fell firmly into the second category. It ended up being one of the hardest weeks we’ve had in a long time, and when I sat down to scrapbook it, I knew I wanted to be honest about what happened while still leaving room for a little light.

For this spread I used the Story Foundations: Plot Twists collection, which felt like the perfect fit for a week that truly didn’t go according to plan. The theme of this chapter is all about documenting the unexpected turns in life, and that made it easier to lean into the harder parts of the story instead of trying to gloss over them. One thing I love about this collection, though, is that it works just as well for the good moments too. Life is rarely just one thing, and this spread reflects that balance.

On the left side of the layout, I focused on documenting the events that made the week so difficult. One of the most personal stories is tucked behind a flip-out card, which lets me include the full journaling while keeping it a little more private within the album. The flip-out still gives the page a visual element in the pocket, but it also creates space to tell the story honestly without putting everything immediately on display.

To add another layer of storytelling, I also incorporated digital mixed media elements from the Plot Twists collection to create a few custom cards for the spread. Mixing digital pieces into a pocket page is one of my favorite ways to make a layout feel more personalized, especially when I want a card that says exactly what the story needs. The combination of printed cards, custom elements, and layered embellishments helps the page feel cohesive while still reflecting the emotional ups and downs of the week.

Because the plot twist took up the entire end of February, I also included my February Faves on the right side of the spread. Adding those favorite moments helped shift the tone of the layout and remind me that even during a tough stretch, there were still small bright spots worth remembering.

I used the Plot Twists collection for these cards as well, which really shows how versatile the designs can be. Even though the theme leans into unexpected moments, the colors and patterns work beautifully for everyday stories too.

In the end, this spread became a really honest snapshot of the week. It holds the hard parts, the hopeful parts, and everything in between. And to me, that’s exactly what memory keeping is meant to do.
