Project Life 2026 Week Five: Using The Story Foundations Core Kit, Routines and Faves together!

The first half of February did not exactly go according to plan. Between feeling under the weather and spending more time resting than documenting, I ended up with far fewer photos than I normally would for two full weeks. Rather than forcing separate weekly spreads, I decided to embrace a more flexible approach and scrapbook the first two weeks of February on one and a half spreads.

This adjusted format ended up being exactly what I needed. By pairing the half spread with my February Faves page, everything still feels balanced and intentional within the album. It is one of the things I appreciate most about Project Life: the structure is there when you want it, but it is forgiving when life gets a little messy.

For this spread, I mixed all three Story Foundations collections: the Core Kit, Routines, and Faves. Each one brought something different to the layout. The Core Kit anchored the design, Routines supported the everyday moments and slower pace of the weeks, and Faves helped highlight the small comforts and bright spots that stood out despite being sick.

Visually, the collections worked together seamlessly. The consistent style and complementary color palettes made it easy to layer patterns, icons, and journaling cards without things feeling disjointed. I did not have to overthink the combinations, which was a relief during a low-energy creative stretch.

This spread really reflects the reality of those weeks. More quiet moments, more rest, fewer outings, and a heavier focus on home and routine. It is not the most eventful set of pages in my album, but it is honest, and that is always the goal.

If you ever find yourself short on photos or creative energy, consider combining weeks or adjusting your spread format. Albums do not have to follow rigid rules to be meaningful. Sometimes the best storytelling comes from adapting to what your life actually looks like.
