Seven Days of No Stress December Daily Prep: Day Five!

December Daily and other daily projects like it can be…stressful. The comparison is REAL and we can get lost in trying out allll the new techniques and stress ourselves out to the max trying to “keep up” with the community. I get it. I get caught up in it too. That’s why for the next 7 days I’m going to be bringing you video each day with pages using simple techniques - no special tools required - that you can add to your album to liven up your pages WITHOUT going crazy and adding stress to your already busy and stressful holiday season.

Use these ideas as-is or as a jumping off point for more complex pages if you wish!

Today I’m going to be using the Santa Claus Lane collection that I designed for Echo Park! I always love using my own product and seeing what works and what I could have done better for the future! I made four foundation pages and four 4x4 cards from the scraps!

The first page I had stuck in my head for this collection was this fun “present” envelope. I drew a lot of cute presents for this line so I knew I needed to make a big one! I created an envelope with one of the papers and added a paper “ribbon” vertically to the outside.

I cut down a paper to fit inside and attached the “box top” to it with a hinge so that when you put the paper inside the present, the box top stays on the outside to close the present. Lastly, I added that cute “do not open until Christmas” ephemera!

I’ve been incorporating a lot of acetate pages into my album this year and I’m loving the results! For this collection, I created hanging ornaments on acetate by using my circle punch to cut out two circles each of 3 patterns, folding one circle of each pattern in half, and gluing the two matching patterns together with liquid glue along the fold. I then added string and pearls from the adhesive brads.

The “just believe” and trees are actually under the acetate on the next page so that you don’t see their backsides when you flip the page.

I love some envelopes my December Daily, so I made a second one out of patterned papers and used the stamps from the collection to decorate the tag that slides inside.

I wanted a fun and different use for tags, as well as a full page spread in my album, so I cut 6 tags from patterned paper for this page and placed them so that they alternate down the page. Clips hold down “suggested” embellishments!

Lastly, I went with 4x4 cards from the scraps with this collection for a little something different!
