Scraplift Saturday - Designer & Founder Traci!

It's almost my birthday and every year for the Scraplift Saturday of my birthday month, the team lifts little old ME! I always love seeing what they come up with and Danica, Vanessa, and Melinda knocked it out of the park this year!

P.S. Did you know that you can see all my layouts on Instagram using the hashtag #TRDScrapsAndScraps rather than wading through my whole feed?

Make sure you tag me on Instagram if you play along and use the hashtag #TRDScrapLiftSaturday!

Danica

Traci had so many cool layouts to lift but I picked this one because of the cutout heart window. I wanted to replicate this look digitally on my layout. I love the heart but this technique would work with any shape really. I had a super cute photo of my cat Charlotte that I wanted to scrap from the 4th of July, so I thought a star shape would be perfect. I used PSE to cut out my star shape from the wood grain background paper. Traci has several patriotic collections that are super easy to mix and match. For my layout I used Memorial Day and Independence Day! My title was extracted from one of the journal cards. I really love how my layout turned out and thank Traci for the inspiration.

Melinda - Candy Coated Christmas

I think in all of the years that I’ve been a part of this team I jump at the chance to scrap lift Traci - especially around her birthday! There are 2 reasons - 1st is that I love everything that Traci designs - everything!! 2nd is that we actually share a birthday which I also love!

I chose this layout of Traci’s beacause I loved the bigger photo paired with all of those fun patterns in the background. It can often be hard to incorporate lots of patterns and/or colours without the page becoming overwhelming and I love how Traci did it with her page!

I also love that the rest of the page is a simple diagonal design drawing your eye from the top left to the bottom right!

I hope you love my take on your page Traci, thanks for the inspiration!!

Vanessa - Trailblazer

This month in honor of her birthday some of the design team are scrap lifting our fearless leader. I have to say trying to pick just one layout to scrap lift was a difficult task. Going through Traci’s Instagram to find a layout reminded me of just how much inspiration Traci has shared so picking just one layout was a challenge. Ultimately, I chose this fall inspired layout featuring multiple photos and tags. I had recently purchased a new tag die so this layout with the tags along the top drew me immediately. I pulled out the new Trailblazer collection for my page since the colored matched well with my photos. I pulled three photos, cut some tags, added some mixed media elements to my background and I love how it turned out.  Be sure to check out Traci’s Instagram for tons of inspiration. Happy Birthday Traci, I hope you have a wonderful birthday and thank you for all the amazing work you create and the inspiration you share.

Cheryl - Keep Chasing Rainbows

I was immediately drawn to Traci’s “Flowers In Our Hair” layout, especially because of the folded paper detail in the upper right corner and the page’s slanted composition. I also loved the page’s romantic, playful vibe. For my version, I used two selfies of my husband and me taken at a family wedding last year. I followed the same general design, but added more flowers and embellishments to make it my own. At the start of my video, you’ll see how I used the pen tool to create custom shapes that served as clipping masks for the patterned papers in the top corner. I’m really happy with how the shadowing turned out—it added so much depth and dimension to that part of the layout!
