Scraplift Saturday - Hybrid Team Member Cathy!

I love Cathy’s gallery because it is SO the opposite of mine! Clean lines, focus on long stories and large photos - Cathy is the master of minimalism, so it was so fun to see what her (mostly maximalist) teammates did with her scraplift post!

Jenn - Sunkissed

I chose this fabulous layout by Cathy to scraplift because I was really pulled in by the large, meaningful photo and the journaling on the side. I used the Sunkissed collection to document my mini trip with my daughter before she gives birth to her first daughter.

Danica - Beginnings & Endings

I loved looking through Cathy’s gallery! There are so many layouts that I could have lifted. I love all her big photo layouts! I finally picked this one because of all the fun embellishments and wordarts. For my lift, I used Traci’s Beginnings and Endings collection (which I also thought was appropriate for the subject of my layout) as well as the arrow from On the Go and Going Slow. The arrow had bright yellow in it, so I decided to do a quick color adjustment. I love how my page turned out. Thanks to Cathy for the inspiration. I can see many big photo layouts in my future.

Theresa - Time to Thrive

I was so inspired by Cathy’s journaling and very intentional page designs! Her focus always remains on photo and story, and everything else points directly to those elements. I decided to scraplift her stunning layouts that are love letters to her beautiful children. She used one photo, while I used two. She used their names as the title, I’ve used the name of the event for my title. She used white backgrounds, and I’ve brought in two patterned papers. My photo for this layout was taken at our local fair, but my story was about how happy it makes me to simply hang out with our children. I decided to use the Time to Thrive collection, simply because the colors reminded me of the fair! I am not nearly as minimal a scrapper as Cathy is, so I added a few word strips, one of the mixed media elements, and I jazzed up the alphabets from the kit as well! To help me with journaling, I used a stamp set from Elle’s Studio to simply list my bullet items, and it fit perfectly into the speech bubble from the kit. My favorite thing about scraplifting Cathy is how, even though our styles are a bit different, her page was so easy to make because of excellent page design. Thank you Cathy, for the inspiration!
