Mix It Up Monday: Story Foundations: Faves + Smitten

Hello and welcome to the forty-first edition of our fun series: Mix It Up Monday! We love to show you how easy it is to mix and match TRD collections to create something new and wonderful!

This month, we’re combining Smitten with our new Story Foundations: Faves collection! Both share a few similar motifs lie love letters and thought bubbles + a pretty great palette overlap, making these two collections easy to pair!

The new Story Foundations collection: Faves and Smitten go well together! I chose some papers from each collection for my base and photo mats, and then the beautiful flowers from Fave to match the rosettes from Smitten and small elements from the digital kit.

This “10 Things I Love About You” page is not the type of layout I usually create, but I always intend to. I was inspired to finally create a page focused entirely on my son and all the things I love about him right now. Merging Smitten and the new Story Foundations: Faves kits, I loved how easily the two collections blended together, perfect for documenting the little (and big) things that make him who he is. Pairing those kits with a template by Cindy Schneider (Single 228: 10 things) made the process feel easier, giving me just the right structure to focus on the words. This page is a reminder to myself that these stories matter even when it’s not my usual style. I’m so glad I finally made this one happen. Now, I am going to go make one for my daughter too!!

I really enjoyed the challenge of a mash up. Although the collections initially seemed quite different, it was actually easier than I thought. Once I had realised the papers that went together best, I printed these “new baby” photos to go with them. I think the whole layout came out really well and I'm planning a couple more with the offcuts
