Create a Bewitching File Folder Mini Album with Midnight Apothecary

When it comes to scrapbooking, sometimes the most magical projects are the ones that hold little surprises at every turn. I put together a file folder mini album using the brand-new Midnight Apothecary collection to house extra photos from a witchy photo shoot I did in Salem with my mom and sister and it’s packed full of interactive elements that make it just as fun to flip through as it was to create.

The cover that sets the tone right away—dark roses, magical icons, a playful “a wee bit witchy” greeting, and even DIY washi tape! It feels like the cover of a spell book!

Inside, things get interactive. Belly bands stretch across the pages, holding tags and photo mats you can slide in and out. Behind them are little hiding spots—perfect for tucking away photos or journaling you want to keep private until the right time. Each page feels different thanks to the mix of patterned papers and stickers, from vintage roses to potion bottles and starry skies.

Flip another page and you’ll find pockets stuffed with journaling cards and tags, ready to be pulled out and written on. These pockets are great for stashing photos from trick-or-treating, a fall outing, or even just cozy nights in. Adding stickers and layers gives each section a fun, finished look without being overcomplicated.

Throughout the album, I added hidden photos under flaps and tags. It makes the project feel a little like a treasure hunt—there’s always something else to discover as you flip through. These small details keep the album engaging and give you more room to tell your story without taking up extra space.

If you’re looking for inspiration to kickstart your Halloween memory keeping, I can’t recommend trying a project like this enough. The mix of pockets, pull-outs, and hidden spaces makes it a playful keepsake, while the collection itself ensures it feels polished and beautiful!

I created this album based off this tutorial from Little Hot Tamale, though mine did come out a bit differently!
