A Weekend to Create, Laugh, & Recharge with Amy

When I first saw the Story Foundations: Me Time collection, I immediately thought of my scrapbooking weekends.

Sometimes “me time” doesn’t look like a quiet cup of coffee or an afternoon at the spa. Sometimes it looks like packing an absurd amount of scrapbooking supplies into the car, heading away for the weekend, and spending a few days surrounded by silly friends that make you laugh until your sides hurt.

The whole idea behind this collection is documenting the things you love and celebrating the hobbies that make your time your own and for me, there may not be a better example of that than a weekend away with my scrapbooking friends. Twice a year, for the past 20 years, my friends & I have made these weekends a priority. It’s a chance to step away from everyday responsibilities, relax & have fun together! It’s nice to have a long weekend where the only real agenda is to scrapbook, laugh, catch up with friends, eat good food, stay up too late, and relax. No laundry. No errands. No schedules to keep. No obligations. Just time for me to do whatever I want.

Our group has gotten smaller over the years, but the tradition continues with a core group of us. We’ve shared so many seasons of life together, and getting to step away from everyday life and reconnect is such a gift.

Twenty years of crop weekends have given me so many scrapbook pages, but even more importantly, they’ve given me memories, friendships, and plenty of time to do something I love.
