Maximizing your Scraps with Becky

Traci offered us a choice of prompts for our blog post and I quickly grabbed Scrapping with Scraps, only to find when I came to create my blog post that I had no scraps of paper! The advantage of doing hyrbrid scrapping is that you can just print what you need to use and so don’t have any waste, which is what I tend to do. However, I did have a lot of embellishments to use up so in order to create my layout I printed out strips of patterned paper to act as ‘scraps’ and added them to the few patterned cards I had. The collection I am using is Haunting.

I took the patterned paper and cut it into strips of varying widths. I adhered these to a piece of paper to give me a background to use with a cut file of a pumpkin which I created using a digital stamp from the Jack and Skelly collection.

I stuck the pumpkin cut file onto the strips of paper and then cut it out.

I was then able to use the pumpkin as a statement piece on my layout, using up a fair few of the embellishments I had too!

As I still had some scraps of paper left over I decided to create a companion page with some large strips of paper layered in various sizes. I was going to use one of the embelishment clusters but completely forgot!

There are so many ways to use scraps in scrapbooking and I hope I have given you some inspiration.
