Creating a Halloween Through the Years Album with Luly

Happy Halloween friend! I am a recent convert to all the fun Halloween scrapping. But the problem is of course that I have all these adorable & very funny Halloween pics from all the years of my kids (and nieces & nephews) growing up that I never scrapbooked.  On top of that, I am also a very recent convert to loving all the Halloween papers and stickers too! I will document them randomly since I know I will find some easily – and some will take longer to find and to scan.

I love Traci’s Haunting collection and thought it would be a great collection to use with all its bright colors! I know I want to use a smaller album and I love the “Life Crafted” size from Citrus Twist Kits (it holds Traveler’s Notebook sized pages 4.25” x 8.25”). I love this size for projects with fewer photos and shorter journaling and Traci’s collections have TN sized papers in all her collections

I started by printing and cutting some of the stickers at half-size (or smaller). It's easy to do in the Silhouette software. The steps are easy, and Traci has some fantastic tutorials. I start with the full sheet – and then just selected them all, rotated and shrunk them to ½ size – approximately. I did this with both sticker sheets so that I have lots of options when I go to document my various photos.

For my title page, I really wanted to use the Haunted House and create a small scene. I laid it out in the Silhouette software and then moved the pieces so that I could cut them individually. I added a few extra embellishments to fill out my page – and not waste the time I spend printing and cutting on my machine. I’ll store extras in my filing system I have set up per collection. See this blog post for details on that.

Once the elements are cut – I create my title page, which I have already laid out on my computer and add my title. Since its the opening page, I added a few extra things, like stitching and a little tone on tone ink blending and splatters with stampin’ up petunia pop ink color

I add a sheet of spiderweb paper from the collection to add my album title on the back of my cover page.

Finally I search through my Google Photos folder for my pics. I know I have a lot more but I have enough to get started.  I will come back to this album from time to time as photos are located and I need a touch of Halloween magic (during the long cold winter months of the Midwest!)

Hope you are enjoying your day and getting to eat all your favorite candies!!
