Making Dark Photos POP with Bright Elements!

Halloween is my favorite holiday and the Haunting kit from Traci Reed Designs is SO FUN for all things Halloween!! As soon as the kids go back to school and there is a sniff of fall in the air, I am in full Halloween mode! What better way to celebrate than with a Halloween scrapbook page about my kiddos!

Instead of using the traditional darker Halloween colors for this layout, I used Traci’s Haunting kit with bright colors for a fun twist on a Halloween layout. Halloween photos taken at night tend to be pretty dark, with lots of black, shadows, and deep colors. Rather than trying to match that darkness, I decided to embrace the contrast and use bright, colorful elements to make the photos POP!

I absolutely love how this kit brightens up some otherwise dark images. The Haunting kit has all the classic Halloween vibes you’d expect, but with such a fun, colorful twist. Bright oranges, purples, greens, pinks, and playful Halloween icons bring so much energy to a page. The collection includes everything from friendly ghosts and jack-o-lanterns to black cats, spider webs, witches, and haunted houses, giving you plenty of options for embellishing your Halloween memories.

If you have some dark or nighttime Halloween photos sitting in your digital stash, don't be afraid to go bright with your embellishments! Sometimes the best way to make a dark photo shine is to surround it with color.
