The beach is my happy place and the most recent beach we went to, Hawaii, was one that perhaps you wouldn’t scrapbook with a traditional nautical collection, but I challenged myself to use it anyway! I stuck with the lighter colors in the palette and color blacked the background to send your eyes straight to the stunner of a photo in the center of the page!

I love hexagons, don’t you? There are hexagons in the Sticker Pack of the True North collection, and so that is where I began my layout design. In Photoshop, I arranged my hexagons and clipped additional patterned papers to create the bulk of this page. I also clipped my three photos, of my husband and myself being silly on our date night. Behind my hexagons, I layered two patterned papers along with the mixed media elements in the Ellies Pack. I also added the arrow elements at the top and bottom with some fun stitching to “attach” them to the page. After adding a few labels and stars and the adorable crabs, I printed and cut everything. I adhered everything down, using pop dots on some of the printed elements so they would stand out a little. I also added my title with some fun red puffy alphabets (from Elle’s Studio). This is such a fun, peppy layout to remember these moments. I hope you are inspired!

I recently came across these photos from a trip we took years ago, and I think the True North kit perfectly captures their vibe. I’m so glad I finally got them scrapped—and even happier to have this kit in my stash now. I can see myself using it for lots of our tropical vacations!

I love everything ocean related and this collection in beautiful! And it was perfect to document my photos in Seattle, when me and my husband went Orcas Sightseeing! It was amazing!.
I’ve used a lot of the awesome cards in the collection and some elements to put together my page.

The colors in this fun collection really went well with some photos I took of an anniversary trip my husband surprised me with in April 2017. We were able to have a dinner and a show on the General Jackson Showboat in Nashville. I printed out the colorful woodgrain and then cut it apart into 1x12” strips and adhered them to a white background that I did a little stamping and ink smooshing on to create visual interest. I layered up a bunch of the ephemera around my largest photo and then clustered the four smaller photos around the larger photo. I used the Set Sail title as a header on my layout. I added two of the journaling labels underneath my photos for my story.
