Focus On: Cider Season

Apples don’t always get the spotlight they deserve in fall. If October is all about pumpkins, then September belongs to the apples! The Cider Season collection was designed to celebrate just that — apple-picking days, cider sipping, and crisp air adventures. With a rich palette of blues and oranges, charming illustrations (yes, there are pumpkins too!), and all the cozy orchard vibes, it’s the perfect way to document your early fall stories.

And better yet, it’s 50-58% off for the next few days only!

I was so excited to dive into the Cider Season collection and instantly fell in love with all the gorgeous blues. I started by choosing two of the Travelers Notebook Signatures and then paired them with the orange dot paper and that stunning blue print with leaves and acorns for my background. At this point, I also printed out four of the 3x4 patterned cards to use as photo mats, which added some fun layers. To finish things off, I selected some of the digital elements and even made my own stickers—thanks to the techniques Traci shared in her recent hybrid class!

The colors in the Cider Season Collection perfectly complemented my family photo. I began with our picture, sized around 5x7, and placed it at an angle near the top left of my canvas. From there, I layered in word strips and other embellishments, then added a traveler’s notebook sized journaling card for my story. I selected three coordinating papers from the collection and continued to build the layout, blending both realistic elements and playful stickers. By the time I finished, I realized my design had naturally formed a backward “C,” creating a smooth flow that guides the eye across the page.

One of my family’s favorite fall desserts is apple crisp. The cider season collection was perfect to document the apple crisp that my daughter made. For my layout I pulled all the apple and food related embellishments which perfectly complemented my photos. I also pulled one of my favorite patterns from the collection and printed it in vellum. The mushroom pattern paper adds a different texture to start my stacked pattern papers. If you have fall treats to document grab the cider season collection and start scraping. I love, love, love Autumn because the weather is cooler, not too hot and not too cold. The other reason I love Autumn is because my favorite scrapbook collections always come out then. Cider Season is no exception. One of our favorite activities is going to the cider mill on Fridays. This collection has a lot of apple/cider elements and papers perfect for scrapping a trip to the cider mill!!

I love all the colors of fall - so Traci’s Cider Season is one of my favorite collections! The photos of the hike in late fall were the perfect mix of browns and golds and mix so well with this collection.  I love to document all the big and small events - and this little day hike was definitely worthy of a spot in my scrapbook! I used one of the TN signatures - one of my favorites in this collection along with some pockets cards and Traci’s fun stitched pockets available in the Sweet Shoppe and on her online store!
