Creating a Rainbow of Embellishments with Becky using the Fierce Collection

I decided to embrace the rainbows in this collection by creating my own rainbow with some of the embellishments. I chose the flowers and buttons from the digital embellishments and the hearts and stars from the sticker pack in blue/green, yellow/orange and red/pink. To create some more buttons and hearts with different designs I opened a canvas in Silhouette Studio and pulled in a heart/button.

I then opened the 3x4 patterned cards folder and pulled onto the canvas a 3x4 card jpeg of the pattern I liked which automatically dropped itself into the shape. This gave me more designs to play with in each colour range.

I imported a Rainbow cutfile from Traci’s Sunkissed collection and manipulated it to the shape I wanted on my canvas. I then placed the embellishments in rainbow colour order onto the rainbow. Once I was happy with this I copied and pasted the whole rainbow onto another page and then separated the embellishments so I could then print and cut them. This meant that I only had to print and cut those embellishments that I needed and I had my Silhouette design from the first canvas to use as a prompt for completing my layout on paper. I cut out the rainbow and used the stencil part of it to sketch the rainbow onto my white card. I then used some watercolour to paint each rainbow to give some interest behind the embellishments.

Once I’d printed and cut my embellishments I used foam to raise some of the them and made sure some were overlapping to give interest. I popped the photo, mounted on a couple of the 6x4 cards trimmed to size, under the rainbow so that the embellishments were running over the top of it. The title is from the sticker pack and I mounted it on foam to give some more dimension to the layout. I threaded some of the buttons with crochet cotton to add some more texture to the layout.

A few Nuvo Drops over the centres of the flowers and on some of the buttons, some threads through some of the buttons, sequins, watercolour splatters and my journalling, finished this layout off nicely.
