Small Prints, More Patterns with Nicole

The new Besties Who Brunch is such a perfect collection to document those moments spent with friends and food.

Oftentimes, I have a hard time narrowing down the pattern papers in Traci’s collections so a solution I like to use is to find a sketch or design element that allows for smaller cuts because that means MORE patterns.

I cropped my patterns from the Travelers Notebook Pattern Papers into 4x4 and 3x3 inch squares and dragged them onto letter sized canvases in PhotoShop Elements to save on printing.  I knew I would be trimming these down into one and two inch squares so I didn’t need a lot of each pattern, just lots of small samples of the collection.

I printed the rainbow plaid pattern in a full bleed 8.5x11 and used that as a large mat - I did cut this and the gap is hidden behind my little quilted pattern area.  This is a great solution for when you have a standard size printer and want the look of a larger sheet of paper.

I pulled my embellishments from the individual files so that I could pull the exact colors and phrases I wanted to use on this layout.  I love that I can easily do a copy and paste and get multiples of the florals and greenery images.
