December Daily 2022: Days 15 & 16

Happy Days 15 & 16 of December Daily! I had two small(ish) stories I wanted to include in my album, but neither required a full spread dedicated to them, so I decided to pair them together into one MEGA SPREAD 🤣 using the All is Bright Collection!

Both pages work together perfectly but standalone both as stories and visually!

Day 15

Day 15 is all about the matching Christmas Cacti that my bestie bought us, which bloomed at the same time, of course. This SHOULD have been the easier of the two pages, since it’s only one 6x8.5 layout, but whoo-boy, it took some finagling to make me happy!

I super love, though, how the black-backed snowflakes compliment and offset the white snowflakes on the opposite side though!

For Day 16, I’m creating my annual gift wrap photo page. It was the perfect place to put the gorgeous wreath transparency I made in my Stress-Free December Daily Prep Day 2 Video.

I tend to do the same thing with this story each year, enlarge my photo to a full page and either journal on top or embellish. Today I decided to embellish so that it wouldn’t interfere with the aesthetic of the wreath transparency, I added a chipboard number from the Vicki Boutin Chipboard numbers in the CTK Jingle All The Way Kit and white snowflakes from the Crate Paper Mittens & Mistletoe stickers.

I added white enamel dots to complete the look and this makes the photo look embellished when the page is turned, but doesn’t interfere with the look of the transparency when it’s not.

When you open the photo, another foundation page I created during my Stress-Free December Daily Prep Day 2 Video is revealed and that is where I will put my journaling.

I had the brilliant (if I do say so myself) idea to put a full sheet of my gift tag labels I purchased to go with my gift wrap this year on the inside flap of my photo and then added these foam stickers from the Simple Stories Mix & Mingle collection (found in the CTK Merry Making 12x12 Add On Kit) over the top.

Lastly, I decided to “tie-dye” my “JOY” tag from the All Is Bright Countdown Tags with some inks mixed with water and add another foam star to the center. The whole tag piece slides out from behind that transparency and is where my journaling will go!
