Traci - I Voted
The big triangles on this sketch lend themselves so well to the kind of bold paper piecing needed on the smaller layouts in my October Daily album! I paired it with my I Voted collection and created my background using all three of the mixed media pieces from the collection to make it interesting, but not detracting from the foreground!
Cassie - Renewal
I was so excited when I saw this awesome sketch from Traci! I started scrolling through my phone and came across these cute selfies my husband and I sent to each other while we were apart and I knew that they were perfect for this page. It honestly took me forever to pick a collection, but I finally landed on the Renewal collection, and I’m so glad I did. I just love the colors in this line! I stuck pretty close to the sketch and used the glitter alpha from the collection, then added a few black puffy alphas from my stash and some sequins to finish it off.
Cheryl - Besties Who Brunch & Poolside
I had these two fun photos of me and my second cousin from a recent thrift shopping trip, and as soon as I saw Traci’s sketch, I knew it would be perfect for documenting our playful moment trying on heart-shaped sunglasses with the tags still over the lenses and snapping selfies. I loved the included journaling block, but the lines were spaced too far apart, so I painted over them to make room for more words. The layout definitely needed heart sunglasses, and I remembered there was a pair from Traci’s Poolside Collection. After a quick image adjustment to darken one pair to match the ones my cousin wore, they were just right. A few shopping-themed bits from the Besties Who Brunch Collection made the perfect finishing touches to this layout!

Shayla - Autumn Enchantment
What a great sketch to use when you can’t possibly choose between all the gorgeous papers! I was able to use 6 of my most favourite patterned papers from the Autumn Enchantment collection on this layout. I stuck pretty close to the original and built 3 clusters of embellishments just like in the sketch. I tried to spread out the teal blue across my page by including the colour in each of the clusters. I borrowed the alpha set from Sun-kissed as I felt a thin san serif would be best suited to my layout.
Ronelia - Love Potion
Oh how I love a good sketch to use to make a fun layout and this one was especially awesome! I love the staggered triangles and I enjoyed translating this sketch into a travelers notebook sized layout using Love Potion. I know that this is technically a Valentines day collection but I used it to tell a story of our family – using a recent photo booth image of the four of us. The Love Potion collection was a perfect fit for the photos and the sketchy layout was designed for a fun photo strip – win win!
Torey - Jack & Skelly
Don’t judge me, but I am still documenting October. I used this week’s sketch along with the Jack and Shelly collection to document a recent Best Witches Photoshoot I had with one of my besties! This was a challenging sketch for be because I could not figure out what to do with the layered triangles! In the end I found something I loved by using the textured solids and using some of the layering elements from the ellies. I just love sketches that challenge me!
Hanna - Wander & Wonder
The triangles in this sketch reminded me of rewinding and looking back. And since I haven't scrapped a lot of the photo of our latest trip I decided to use some of those. I picked the Wander & Wonder Bundle. I elected the ellies based on the colors of the Welsh flag: white, red and greens. This way it's all cohesive. I kept the clusters and shapes of the sketch mostly intact as it puts the focus on the photos. Some ellies cascading down the page to make it more dynamic and ta-daaa! A nice travel page.Type something to get startedH
Ana - Wander & Wonder
Traveling is one of those that I love scrapbooking about, so I’m starting my TRD DT adventure with a collection that perfectly captures that! The Wander and Wonder collection is everything your wanderlust and crafty heart could dream of.
Early this year, I decided to make a scrapbook for my mom, a little something in return for all the years she captured moments of my siblings and me. This time, this one will be all about her. Since this is a special first for this new DT journey, I created a page for my mom of her India trip early this year. I’m building a whole scrapbook for her, so expect more of her in my upcoming projects.
Kristin - Jack & Skelly
For Sketchy Sunday, I wanted to create a Halloweeen layout that had a vintage vibe to it and the Jack and Skelly collection was the perfect one for the layout! I created a mixed media background with a little white acrylic paint smudged on the black cardstock. I swapped out the triangles in the sketch for 3 layered pumpkins that I cut from Cricut design space and then backed with plaid and checkered paper from the collection. I created the clusters around the photos using stars, skeletons, and some word phrases--much of which is popped up on foam to give the layout added dimension. I then used the marquee alphas in white and peach to create the title and made sure to include a cute witches cauldron by the word witch!
Bruna - Wildfower
I love to use triangles in my layouts, so this sketch was fun!! I chose Wildflowers collection, one of my all time favorites from Traci and adapted the sketch for a TN spread.
I used the alphas from Equinox, they are gorgeous!
Laura - Jack & Skelly
I absolutely adore the Jack and Skelly collection. It's a fun vintage style with just a hint of modern. My Halloween costumes these days are the decorative headbands I get at the store. When making this layout in Affinity I had the sketch off to the side to recreate it. For the dark star background I added a vellum overlay so the rest of the elements could stand out. Then used the embellishments in the places on the sketch. For the title BOO I added a white glow effect so that it would be readable against the dark background.
