Theme Thursday - Christmas in July!

I don’t know about what it’s like right now in YOUR neck of the woods, but I could use some vicarious cold weather that comes along with Christmas here in the northern hemisphere - it is so hot! Today for Theme Thursday, I have three AMAZING projects for you to check out that are going to knock your socks off an inspire you to finish those December Daily albums!!

Theresa - Candy Coated Christmas

I could not wait to play with the Candy Coated Christmas collection for Christmas In July! I love bringing out my December Daily album every July to get a few pages done, and this collection is perfect. I am about half way through my album, so today I will be sharing Days 13 and 14 with you.

Day 13: My favorite thing is to pull a shape or icon from a certain collection that ties in somehow with my stories on the layout. This happy little mint green mug is perfect for our story about the hot chocolate bar we kept in the kitchen this year. I took a few creative liberties with the mug and enlarged it a bit. I printed two fronts and cut elements out to pop them up – the marshmallows look so cute, don’t they?! I also cut a back and sandwiched my paper mug over a transparency so it would go into the album. For the date, I was super excited about using the date stamps from this collection! I recolored it using a gradient overlay in Photoshop. The pockets that I had for journaling are 4x4 (this album is the Ali Edwards 10x8 album) so I decided to use patterned papers for the journaling cards. They’ve been sized down a bit to match the 4x4 scale.

Day 14: My story for this day is about my mother’s plate rack. I document something about this item every year in my December Daily, as it is something that means a lot to me and I like to record how I’ve decorated it. To start my layout, I began with a star cut out insert (Felicity Jane) and created a flip out. My idea was to have a patterned paper filling in the star and the photo could peek behind it. For my journaling, I created a full digital layout using many of the digital elements in the collection. The pink notebook was the perfect spot for my story! I also took some of the florals in the collection and clipped them to the notebook so it looks a bit like patterned paper. When you flip this open, you find the photo of our plate rack and the back side of the vellum star. In addition to the number 14, I also stamped a few tiny word sentiments (Citrus Twist). The entire flip out is held together with washi tape from my stash.

I hope you are inspired to work in your December albums this month! You will love playing with this collection!

Tara - The Naughty List

There are only 156 shopping days left until Christmas and it’s never too early to start getting ready! Maybe you need a little push to get yourself in the Christmas mood or maybe you have a friend that is always on top of her Christmas list. No matter which, this adorable stuffed envelope made with the clever and cute The Naughty List is the perfect addition! This collection is bright, beautiful and oh so punny! Its got all the holiday bits in a sweet, non-traditional color scheme and some very playful sentiments!

This chunky holder has three pockets that hold all the necessary elements for a magnificent gift! This will inspire and encourage anyone to get into the Christmas spirit!

The largest pocket holds several small sheets of wrapping paper that were printed with heavier weight copy paper. The patterns are gorgeous, jolly and vivid! These are perfect for small gifts which, in my opinion, are always the best!

The middle pocket holds a small wire bound notebook with several of the ‘Naughty or Nice’ journal cards to make lists for those you need to buy for. I also included several other journal cards as pages for more notes and Christmas ideas! The covers were printed on glitter inkjet card stock and they look amazing and so festive!!

The first pocket contains several charming tags that are gift ready! Each is layered with more of the pretty paper designs of this collection and highlighted with the delightful embellishments. Those printed on the glitter card stock don’t shine as brightly in the photos, but they printed beautifully and are a great decoration!

No bah-humbugging this year! Make one of these envelopes for yourself to get into the Christmas mood and make one for all of your friends to guarantee a super sweet gift for yourself!

Stephanie - Candy Coated Christmas

Christmas in July was the perfect time to complete my December daily for 2019. I started it in 2021 but didn't get to finish it. I originally tried to do it in a Traveler's notebook size, but it did not work out. I decided to go with a 6x8 album, and I'm glad I did because I was able to add in different sized pattern papers throughout the album from 4x6 cards to Traveler's notebook to full page backgrounds from the Candy Coated Christmas collection.

I loved going back in time, seeing my boys so small. It was the mint and pinks that really called me to this collection. I printed two sets of stickers because I knew I would want to use certain ones more than once.

I loved printing the pattern papers in vellum. It was a subtle way to create separations between stories. I am so glad to call this album complete for Christmas in July.
