Completing a Cohesive October Daily Spread with a Foundation Page with Theresa!

Hi friends, it’s Theresa here today and we are talking about October Daily Foundation Pages! I love creating them and using me to help complete pages in my albums, and I want to show you how I have taken this October Daily 2026 Foundation Page to completion. This page was completed with the Story Foundations Paranormal Activities collection. It showcases the embellishments from the collections They are sewn into a pumpkin shape using black thread, which makes the shape just pop on the page! Since this is a Foundation Page, I have left space for a photo which is shown where the frame is, and I am demonstrating the day number so it’s not glued down yet. The white space also leaves room for a title and journaling, if you like.

Now, this page a little bit of a labor of love, cutting all the pieces and sewing them into place. Foundation Pages are great for doing things you might otherwise not make time to do throughout the month of October. So fast forward into the month of October and I think I have a great story and photo to go with this Foundation Page. While we were decorating our house for Halloween, I was working with a wire frame pumpkin from Dollar Tree. I was being silly and held up the pumpkin in front of my face pretending to be a pumpkin head, and my husband snapped a photo. That wire pumpkin became the basis for this layout and for the stitched pumpkin and they are perfect together.

The photo of me as a pumpkin head wasn’t the only photo and story of that day, so I decided to expand it into a two page spread. The question becomes how to create the left hand side and make it feel cohesive with the page I already made?

Here is where the principles and elements of design help you out.

The first element I have used is color. Color repeated throughout a layout creates an instant and visible layout that tickles your brain a bit. I tend to be a color enthusiast, and seeing the pops of orange throughout, the little bits of green, and the fun purple make these two pages flow. The green and orange are taken straight from the enlarged photo, so the photo is instantly connected to the layout as well.

The second element is repetition. It begins with all the flowers and candy pieces within the sewn pumpkin, and also pay attention to how the patterned paper repeats those same embellishments. It’s also on a white background, keeping this side light and airy. The frames are also repeated, along with the adorable characters dancing across the bottom of the page!

I hope you have been inspired to complete some fun pages in your October Daily album, or in any scrapbook project you have going on right now! Happy creating to you!
