Moonlit Chat-GPT Inspired Instagram Hop!

Hey Hey Hey! It's Moonlit Saturday today and the TRD team is trying out a BRAND NEW ChatGPT-inspired Instagram Hop!

Yes you read that right! We asked ChatGPT to give us layout ideas for the Moonlit collection and it came up with some pretty inspiring (and sometimes hilarious) prompts, complete with embellishment ideas!!

Check out all the prompts and layouts below!

Traci

"Starlit Dreams": Enhance your layout with dreamy elements such as cloud stickers, moon and star sequins, or ethereal patterned papers, complementing photos of moonlit landscapes or a child sleeping.

When I saw this prompt, I KNEW I had just the photos for it. My son loves to stay up all night and sleep all day (like any good tween) and on this day he fell asleep and slept at the top of the stairs for a solid 8 hours! The prompt was pretty straightforward so I did exactly what it said, preferring to do most of my embellishing in photoshop before printing so I could get the full effect of those glowing fluorescent light embellishments!

"Dancing in the Moonlight": Incorporate dance-themed embellishments like ballet shoes, musical notes, or disco ball stickers, along with photos of friends or loved ones enjoying a night out.

This prompt is perfect for those super fun wedding dance photos! We had the best time dancing at our wedding along with the kiddos, our friends, and family, and this collection definitely had the perfect papers and elements to tell this story. I began my layout with six favorite photos of the event and printed them in a grid layout for simplicity. I brought in several of the beautiful patterned papers from the Moonlit collection and used the Mask tool to have them blend so that it looked like the sun going down and coming back up. Then I added the gorgeous mixed media elements in the digital kit to add a bit of sparkle! Once everything was printed and cut, it was such a breeze to pull the layout altogether. The music notes were awesome as embellishments and I especially loved the tab that says “Play that song I like.” You will also notice I created more resin stickers from the digital sequins, flowers and music notes for a bit of dimension. What a fantastic night of memories, and an especially wonderful way to document it!

"Midnight Serenade": Use music-themed embellishments like musical instrument die-cuts, sheet music stickers, or musical note washi tape, along with photos of a musician or a concert held during summer nights.

Me and my mom went to a Candlelight concert last summer and I knew that experience was perfect for the feel of this collection.  The prompt said to use a bunch of musical elements to make my page and I used one if the Journal Cards that says “Dream Concert” and I printed out some of the musical notes and a guitar from this kit.  I also brought in some wood veneer musical notes from my stash for this page.  I just brought in some beautiful patterened cards from the collection and my page turned out perfect!

"Campfire Tales": Use speech bubble stickers or die-cuts to create a storytelling atmosphere, surrounded by photos of friends or family sharing stories or laughter around a campfire.

Moonlit has this super cute little campfire element that I wanted to use with the prompt, but it was just too small for my idea. So instead I used the element as an idea for creating a cut-paper effect campfire of my own. I took the prompt of speech bubbles and used them to go the route of using the smoke "bubbles" (clouds) as spaces for my journaling for my page.

To carry on the campfire theme I used pictures from our trip to the river a few years ago to document the night we cooked out over the fire pit and the kids played outside in the dark.

It was fun using the theme and letting it kickstart my idea for the page! It definitely went in directions that I wasn't expecting at first.

"Midnight Blooms": Embellish your layout with flower-shaped die-cuts or paper ephemera, showcasing photos of night-blooming flowers under the moonlight.

I interpreted prompt #12 “midnight blooms,” it suggested to embellish your layout with flower shapes showcasing photos of night blooming flowers in the moonlight.  I did not use flowers but rather numbers, I stamped with coordinating colors from Catherine Pooler to showcase the colors in this months collections.  I highlighted a few of our summer memories so far with a photo of Valentina dancing in the rain.  I used embellishments in the collection for added interest over the photo.

Tracie

"Fireworks Extravaganza": Add fireworks-themed ephemera, such as stickers or puffy stickers, to create a vibrant layout filled with photos of dazzling fireworks displays during summer nights.

I never know what to do with all of the fireworks photos I have, they all begin to look the same after a while! This prompt was the perfect push that I needed to get this page done. The cards in Moonlit provided rich areas of color to the relatively dark fireworks photos. And by following the prompt to add fireworks themed ephemera, I balanced my page by putting one piece in the top left hand corner and one in the bottom right.

Sara

"Moonlit Reflections": Embellish your layout with reflective elements like metallic or foil accents, mirroring the moonlit theme and photos of moonlit water or a cityscape on a calm night.

I used my hot foil machine to create fun embellishments and ,for me, nothing works better for sparkle and “reflective “ elements then sequins.”

Kaye

"Camping Memories": Add camping-themed embellishments like tents, campfires, lanterns, or marshmallow stickers, surrounding photos of roasting marshmallows or storytelling around the campfire.

This is SUCH a fun challenge and so excited to participate in it! I choose the Camping Memories prompt and that is mainly because since I can remember the magic of summer has been based around the campfire at night and the transition of the smore! If the internet and pinterest our recipe has been changed and adapted in the recent years! So I used the Moonlit collection to help me tell this story! The jewel colors and the under the stars elements were perfect complaints to this story! I took the circles of the stickers and planets in the kit and ran with that to embellish the top of my layout! I hope this inspires you to use ChatGPT if you are in a creative slump to tell your stories!

"Nighttime Reflections": Enhance your layout with water droplet-shaped gems or enamel accents, accompanied by photos of moonlit lakes, ponds, or reflections on rainy summer nights.

I had the perfect photo of a sun setting that was taken on an evening walk along the shore of Lake Michigan.  I made the photo as large as I could on a letter sized piece of paper while leaving a thick border at the bottom to include a quote. The sun’s reflection on the water is gorgeous, and the colors in the photo were made for the Moonlit Collection.  A few simple embellishments give the layout just the right mood.  I added enamel/epoxy accents in the centers of the flowers and added sequins to mimic the reflective qualities of the lake.

Cheryl

"Beach Nightlife": Add beach-themed embellishments such as flip-flop stickers, palm tree die-cuts, or beach ball accents, showcasing photos of nighttime beach parties, illuminated beachfronts, or fireworks by the shore.

For our 25th Anniversary, my husband drove out to our local beachfront to listen to Bands On The Beach. It was the last concert of the season and the band was the Emerald Coast Blues Brothers. The lights of the shorefront and pavilion with the vivid, almost neon colors were a perfect match with the Moonlit Collection. I made sure to add the black glittered die cut of a palm tree along with the full moon peeking behind it. I grouped my photos together since we were snuggling in the cool breeze so I could convey that feeling of being hugged.

I added a pair of sunglasses as well as a glittered rub-on of music notes, as well as some stickers that were song related. I included a bold, wide ribbon at the bottom of the layout to ground the entire layout. My journaling was put on paper strips on top of the mixed media and scatters I used. Moonlit is such an amazing collection, and I love how beautifully this layout turned out!
