Hello and welcome to the ninth edition of our fun series: Mix It Up Monday! Today we’re combining two very differently colored collections that both have similar themes that actually complement each other well. I normally like to do Mix It Up Mondays with collections that have similar color palettes, but I thought it would be a good challenge this time to instead combine the brand new Renewal collection with Time to Thrive (which have similar blues and yellows but that’s it) and see how the team approached combining two collections that needed a little more thought in order to combine! Needless to say, they knocked it out of the park!

This is my first time completing a Mix It Up Monday layout, and at first, I wasn’t really sure what I was going to do to combine Traci’s new Renewal collection with an older collection, Time to Thrive. Mixing a softer color pallet with a brighter color palette is not something that I often do.
I decided to focus on the variety of words, quotes, and phrases as a jumping off point. Both kits lend themselves to resolutions, intentions, goals, etc. I’m not a resolution setting type of person, but I do typically review my habits at the beginning of each year and then determine how I would like to go forward in the new year.
I chose to create a selfie layout, and I used several of the journaling cards to surround the photo and then added some beautiful florals and a few more word elements. There are a lot of words on this page, but everything came together effortlessly.

This month for Mix it up Monday we took the brand new kit Renewal along with a kit that has been out for a while called Time to Thrive! These two kits do not exactly go together as one has very soothing colors while the Time to Thrive kit is more rainbowish so pulling these two together definitely took a little time and effort but when I thought about this story from late February I knew this was the one to tell! I took the colors from the renewal kit to match it with the colors of the ocean and used embellishments from the Time to Thrive kit to compliment it!

I'm totally LOVING the new Renewal collection right now so wasn't exactly sure where I would go mixing that with Time to Thrive but after flipping through my photos and finding this one I felt like I was on a winner!

I've used mixed media elements from both collections to create my background in photoshop which I have then printed on a 12x12 textured cardstock.

As orange & blue are complimentary colours I knew they'd work fabulously together so I pulled in more orange pieces (which match one uniform!) from Time to Thrive which really helped to balance the yellows and blues from the Renewal collection.

My page is pretty busy with that big title and all of those numbers but I had lots of fun mixing these together!
