October Daily with Midnight Apothecary
It’s already the middle of October and of course that means I’m behind on my October Daily as per usual! But I have managed to create a few lovely pages with the Midnight Apothecary collection that I wanted to show off!
The first page is this album opener that has so much fun color and texture and is, of course, interactive! Often times, people to their “reason why” page for December Daily, but I wanted to do one for October Daily because, to be honest, Halloween is my Christmas!
To play into the gothic theme of the collection, I used the beautiful rose and skull papers and sandwiched in some spooky tulle behind my photos. I also chose to use the faux fabric roses from the digital kit, rather than the sticker version, because they had black backgrounds that played well with my layout.
For the title, I used a journal label to type out “it’s going to be an” which I placed above the gold foil “enchanting” from the digital kit, then finished off with “October” at the bottom in the cardboard titles from the digital kit. I backed it with more gold foil to give it a little extra oomph and also make my letters stick together better when I print and cut them!
The photo opens up to an accordion fold featuring two more photos, a card with journaling and a designer card!
You can see more about how it opens in the reel on Instagram:
The second page I’ve created with Midnight Apothecary is a full spread that features photos from a full moon hike we went on in one of our local state parks. I thought the moon motif in the Midnight Apothecary collection would be perfect for featuring these photos and I was right!
The lefthand side of the spread features a large photo from the hike to which I adhered a tag with the number from the Midnight Apothecary Journalers via an eyelet through the layout, tied with a bow! Since the eyelet was so low on the page, I strung some fishing line through the eyelet to have an “invisible” way to get it on the page without having to use the rickrack bow I tied the tag with.
To play up the moon theme, on the right hand side of the spread, I used the large moon paper from the Midnight Apothecary collection and clustered some more of my favorite photos from the hike using some of the frames from the digital kit. I didn’t want to cover up the moon too much so I placed them in the bottom corner and kept the embellishing simple with some bats and a title.
I printed two copies of each bat and adhered them together in the middle so the wings could float off the page to give it some fun depth.
