We Are Woman: Celebrate International Woman's Day with TRD!

Hey Hey Hey! It’s International Women’s Day! According to the IWD site:

International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.

As a woman-run business powered by a fully-woman international design team and supported (mostly) by other women passionate about telling their stories, I couldn’t let the day pass by here at TRD without acknowledging it, so I’ve gathered my own international group of women today to tell there stories and the stories of the women in their lives that inspire them!

Melinda (Australia) - Here Comes The Sun

I am so lucky to have so many amazing women in my life that inspire me and make me want to be the best version of me that it took me a while to land on that special person for this layout.

I ended up choosing my baby sister who inspires me every single day. There is 7 years between us and as we have gotten older we have gotten closer. I have watched this little girl grow up and become the amazing woman she is today.

She doesn't have the easiest of path's to walk in her everyday life but yet, she shows up every single day and does the things. I have watched her and cheered her on as she was honoured with a bravery award in 2020 for saving a man's life. I have seen her bloom and grow as she became a Mum. I have loved her every single step of the way and I hope that she knows how much she inspires me just by being her true, beautiful self.

Melinda used the 2021 Freebie - Here Comes The Sun for this layout!

Caroline (United Kingdom) - Keep Chasing Rainbows

When Traci invited us to create a project for International Women' Day to honour a woman who inspires us, I felt spoilt for choice. There are so many inspirational women that I either know, or know of.

After some reflection though, I chose to celebrate the women that I sit in circle with each month as we co-create the Glastonbury Goddess Conference 2022. The Ceremonial group is not an exclusively female only environment. The genders of those involved shift and change each year. This year, however, there are 9 women and I am lucky enough to be one of those.

The ethos and aims of this group are to be honouring, to recognise balance, to co-create and to empower (to name just a few) as we create the programme for the conference.. We sit in circle as opposed to around a square table and the voice of each person present is as equally valid and heard. It is a beautiful, creating energy to be a part of.

As part of my project I have included a photo of the banner that has been created for this years Goddess Conference by Wendy Andrews. I wanted to include a depiction of the Sacred Feminine on my project and felt that this image worked wonderfully as it is modern and specifically for this years conference.

I have chose to work with Traci's Keep Chasing Rainbows collection for this project. It is a collection that is bright and cheerful and I felt it complimented the photos I wanted to work with well.

Anukriti (India) - My Person

I created this box frame wall hanging for myself.

This wall hanging is on my wall beside some of the things I have achieved in my life and many more that are yet to come. It says the famous quote by Michelle Obama, who is an extraordinarily relatable and down to earth which makes her more real to us! She has continuously demonstrated the capacity to lead by example from balancing conflicting roles to raising two strong daughters and to still be in a loving marriage despite a lot of external pressure. She is an inspiration to me and for women and girls everywhere♥️

On my worst days it reminds me that I am limitless 🕊

Anukriti (India) - Filled With Intention

Anukriti also made this beautiful flip album full of words of affirmation from the Filled With Intention collection!

Thays (Brazil) - Rooted

These are my mother and daughter, Guiomar and Maria Fernanda, the strong women in my life.

My mother was always strict with the children, but also sweet. She worked hard to provide us with a dignified life, overcame challenges, supported my father, and always encouraged us to study, to achieve our goals honestly.

My daughter has grown into a strong, intelligent and determined girl. She is very studious, feminist, funny and generous. In fact, she always makes me laugh a lot.

Thays used the lovely Rooted collection for this page.

Allie (United States) - My Story Matters

One of my favorite creators, educators, and scrapbookers is Kristin of The Awesome Ladies Project who really emphasises women telling their stories-- it doesn't feel like "radical feminist act" like I have quoted here, but it IS! For so long, women's voices didn't matter--- we weren't heard. Now it's time to get loud and make them hear. And I'll be telling my story, (in this instance, using the My Story Matters collection) because MY story matters too.
