Focus On: Summer Camp 2.0
Happy Sweet Steals Tuesday! It’s time for another 50% off event for one of my favorite past collections and this week we’re focusing on a collection I made in 2021 for Travel after a year of Lockdowns appropriately named Anywhere But Here!

I love Summer Camp so much, it’s one of my favorite Summer collections I’ve ever made because it’s so different than the usual bikinis and tropical poolside collections. I chose to use it to scrapbook these photos of my puppy getting 50 shades of muddy on our runs each week because I thought it fit the vibe so well!

I had so much fun working with the Summer Camp collection! I wanted to document a hiking adventure, so I created a pattern using 1-inch-wide rectangles positioned at an angle. It adds a really interesting texture. Then I made some sticker clusters and finished the composition with one of the stamps used as the title.

Love how versatile all of Traci’s collections are - and I especially love Summer Camp! Here I am using the collection to document a double page layout from my 2024 UK vacation. I made another hybrid pages in 10”x 8” and included a TN Signature on the left. The TN Signatures are always my favorite part of any of Traci’s kits. I printed some of the digital paint on the my left side and added multi-color hand stitching on both pages. Another tip I used for my layout is related to fussy cutting. Since I only cut a few elements I didn’t pull out my electronic cutting machine. On several of the elements that I wanted to appear more realistic - I took a colored marker and colored the edges to get rid of the white edge (yellowflower & camera flair). I think it totally steps it up very quickly.

Living in Florida gives us access to some incredible outdoor experiences, and one of our favorite spots is the Gulf Islands National Seashore, home to historic Fort Pickens. It holds special memories for both me and my family—my husband actually spent part of his childhood living on the island, and as a teacher, my Mama often took my sister and me to visit the fort. One of my favorite elements on this page is a piece of word art on the left side that reads, “Support Your Local Wild Places.” I also really enjoyed using the journaling card to share this little story, along with assembling the word art pieces that make up my layout title.

In the past I’ve used this kit to create bright and sunny camping inspired pages. This time I wanted to challenge myself so I pulled blue and silver elements to create a moodier layout showcasing my nightscape photos of the Northern Lights. I love the vellum element encouraging us to “Unplug and Look Up”!

I wanted to use the amazing mixed media background of the digital kit, so I¥ve made this layout on photoshop using the elements of the digital kit and one patterned card as a mat for my photo. Love these colors of Summer Camp!
I love the Summer Camp collection! These clouds are so cute and I wanted to use them all! Then I remembered that I had the perfect photo to use with them, and created the layout based on that. I have used papers to represent the sky and the earth and lovely elements, did some hand stitching and stamped my title.
